6 BRIDGE INSTALLATION TIPS It is important the bridge be as LEVEL as possible. It is not necessary to fasten the bridge down to the foundation. For best and long-lasting results, support the bridge from underneath each post. The size of a bridge Example of bridge flush with the ground / path Example of bridge with a step up span Min. 6 Min. 6 BRIDGE FINISHING TIPS Some kind of finish is highly recommended (unless a natural, unfinished, aged-look is preferred). Finished wood tends to last much longer than unfinished wood. Paint is NOT recommended unless it is made for traffic; paint tends to be slippery when wet and peels and cracks over time.
