IMPRESSIONS NEWSLETTER OF THE ARKANSAS LEAGUE OF ARTISTS September Demo Artist Tim Jacob ALA members thoroughly enjoyed Tim Jacob s demo, as he kept us laughing and awed us with his art. Tim was born in Chicago, grew up just outside New York and moved to North Little Rock when he was 11 years old. His work reflects his love of the Delta with cotton fields, water towers, fields of sunflowers and churches. But his portraits and cityscapes are fabulous, too. His style might remind you of pointillism, but is his own impressionistic puddle painting which was inspired by a puddle of spilled coffee! He uses acrylic paints almost like watercolors, layering the puddles to create different colors to form his paintings. He says it s one of the easiest ways to paint because you can always correct it by just using a tissue. His work can be seen from Nashville to San Diego and all over Arkansas. He does commissioned work and portraits upon request. You may see his work at http://timjacob.com. Tim s pallet looked more like a cool sculpture of mountainous colors!
