- Do you want to use a real wood outside? - Do you want green product in your garden? - Do you want install and forget and low maintenance cost? - Do you want this product at affordable price?
- Thermo-treated wood is a new generation of wood material and superior to non-treated wood in these ways: - Increased weather durability by 25 years for outdoor applications - Increased dimensional stability (swelling and shrinkage is reduced by 5-15 times) - Repels moisture at the molecular level (the equilibrium moisture content is lowered by 50-90%) - Visually, the finished product has an even brown color consistent to the center of the wood with beautifully accented grain structure - NO CHEMICALS ( a Green product)

Compared with non-treated wood: o Weather Durability o Increased Stability o Exotic appearance (color & grain structure) o 2 to 4 times less expensive than exotic species Compared with chemically-treated wood (softwood): o NO CHEMICALS!!! o Greater Stability o Easier and less expensive to maintain o Hardwood is a better finishing material than softwood o Exotic appearance o Safe for the environment, friendly to people Compared with composite materials: o 100% Natural Wood Material o Safer for the environment o Natural brown color with detailed grain structure o Competitively priced Compared with exotic woods: o 2 to 4 times cheaper than most exotic species o Equal and sometimes greater stability o Supports local and domestic economy o SAVE THE RAINFOREST!!! Compared with cedar: o Cedar is softwood o Hardwoods shows better grain structure o Greater Stability o Competitively priced
Essential Durability - The reason being that the equilibrium moisture content is reduced by 50% - 90% compared to untreated wood. Thermo-Treated wood is also less susceptible to decay because 95% of the polysaccharide are removed during the process. Increased Dimensional Stability - As wood is thermo-treated, the molecular structure is changed and the wood assumes it s minimal size. These factors substantially reduce moisture related swelling and shrinkage. This amount of stability also ensures a surface that is highly resistant to cracking and checking. The results are a thermo-treated wooden material is harder, easier (and cheaper) to maintain and will uphold a beautiful appearance for many years. Repels Moisture - This is due to the reorganization of carbon-hydrogen chains in the wood structure that occurs during treatment. Visual Characteristics - The thermo-treatment process enhances the woods color creating an even brown tint that is consistent beyond the surface (the scratches are invisible). The natural wooden grain is accentuated, given the appearance of exotic wood for a fraction of the cost. A UV protector should be used to shield the wood from the sun and prevent fading. In the event a UV protectant is not used and fading occurs, the color can be easily restored by sanding. 100% chemically free - Chemicals are never used during the thermo-treatment process, so the material remains environmentally safe. You and your children can walk barefoot across a thermo-treated wooden deck with certainty and piece of mind that the surface is free from harmful chemicals.
7 Applications: exterior siding, decks, swimming pool areas, fences, furniture (especially for gardens), landscape design, highway acoustical barriers. boardwalks, trim of yachts, flooring, parquet, floors and facing tile of bathrooms, windows, doors, bathtubs, wash-bowls, musical instruments, and many other applications. The natural elegance of Thermo Treated Wood and its distinguishing features make it quit easy to integrate into the most stunning and innovative designer solutions.

Process: The thermo-treatment process is made possible by using new technology integrated into specially designed kilns. The chamber is crafted from stainless steel and is air tight allowing complete control of the internal atmosphere. The process begins by removing the chambers oxygen and raising the temperature to levels of 400-450 F. When the target temperature is reached it remains constant for 2-3 hours. Steam is introduced to prevent the wood from burning or cracking and helps to create the desired changes which result in a new molecular structure. The lumber is cooled with condensation, saturating it with moisture. The total process takes anywhere for 12 to 18 hours. Technology: Westwood's 3-D thermo-treatment technology is specially designed to manage the thermo-chemical reactions that occur when treating hardwoods. The process is completely digitized and fully automatic. Every 5 seconds the system monitors and manages more than 20 parameters, producing controlled and predictable results.
