Enter your Photography Exhibits online at the fair s website: www.stancofair.com. Upload your entry when prompted at the end of the online entry process. If you encounter difficulties, please call 209-668-1333 ext. 315 before the deadline as stated. 2. All entries submitted on a paper entry form (by the deadline as stated) will be charged a $4.00 processing fee. 3. Junior Photography Exhibitor s grade and birthdate, PLUS approval of a parent or instructor MUST BE included with entry. 4. Junior Photography: PHOTOS MUST BE 5"X 7" OR LARGER, AND MOUNTED. THE PHOTO MOUNT CANNOT BE MORE THAN 1/4" THICK (NO CONSTRUCTION PAPER OR CARDSTOCK), AND SIZE OF ENTRY CANNOT EXCEED 12" X 18". 5. Senior Photography: PHOTOS MUST BE NO LESS THAN 8 X10, AND MATTED OR MOUNTED. THE PHOTO AND MAT OR MOUNT CANNOT BE MORE THAN ¼ THICK (NO CONSTRUCTON PAPER), AND SIZE OF ENTRY CANNOT EXCEED 12 X18. With the exception of panoramic. 6. PHOTOS CAN BE MOUNTED BY PLACING PHOTO ON TOP OF MOUNT BOARD. ONLY ONE PICTURE PER MOUNT BOARD. 7. Each entry must be listed separately and specifically. Exhibitor must state B/W, Cell Phone or Color 8. All State and Local rules apply. 9. All entries must have been taken by the exhibitor within the last year of the opening date of fair. 10. Exhibitors may enter in the "any other" class only if there is not a class previously listed for that entry. Photos entered in the "any other" class must not be eligible for entry in the other listed classes. 11. At the discretion of the judge or superintendent, entries may be disqualified or changed to their appropriate class. 12. Framed photo entries will not be accepted. A "framed" photo is not a "matted" photo. 13. Display of entries is at the discretion of the management. 14. The fair cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage to entries either in transit or while on exhibit. Submission of entries implies acceptance of the above conditions. 15. There should not be any names or identifying marks on front of picture or mat. 16. Exhibitor is eligible to enter photography in one (1) photography category only. 17. NO techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements. Except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including dodging/burning. Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches are allowed. This applies to all classes except Special effects. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING PHOTOGRAPHS 1. Composition 2. Sharp focus, color & lighting 3. Print quality 4. Impact/effect on viewer ~ 1 ~

PHOTO ENTRY DESCRIPTIONS SPECIAL EFFECTS: Manipulated for special effects ANIMALS: Concentrate on animals, posed or candid ARCHITECTURE: Concentrate on buildings, structures, bridges BIRDS: Concentrate on birds, posed or candid CHILDREN: May show children doing everyday things, or may be a portrait, posed or candid FLORAL: Concentrate on flowers INSECT: Concentrate on insect LANDSCAPES: Concentrate on a natural scene - avoid man-made objects MICRO-CLOSE-UP: Using micro lens or close-up filters MOTION: Concentrate on depicting moving objects PANORAMIC: Size cannot be less than 10 X24 or exceed 18 X36 PEOPLE: May show people doing everyday things, or may be a portrait, posed or candid SEASCAPE: Concentrate on ocean-related scenery SUNRISE OR SUNSET: Concentrate on sunrise or sunset TRANSPORTATION: Concentrate on ways of transport, trains, plane, bus WATER SCENES: Concentrate on views of a body of water, lake, pond ANY OTHER SUBJECT: Only for entries that are not eligible for entry in any other listed class COLLAGE: Use 5 different prints, any size, on one mounting board Mounting board size cannot be larger than 12"X18" Concentrate on theme (the photos should tell a story to the viewer) ~ 2 ~
