3 Timing and frequency what is the best time to post on instagram? According to Coschedule, these are the best times and days to post on Instagram. That being said, this isn t an exact science and you have to experiment to figure out when YOUR audience spends the most time on Instagram. If your ideal customer is a uni student, he/she probably doesn t use Instagram the same way as a mompreneur would. You can use the advice below to start with, but I recommend trying to post at different times and days and see what works the best for you. best times - between 8-9 am - at around 5 pm - at 2 am best days - monday - thursday - worst day: sunday In short -> Stay away from work hours. Post before or after. Don t post anything important on a Sunday where the engagement is very low. how often should you post instagram updates? Here again, there is no exact science. But most online surveys show that 1.5 post a day is a good number, meaning that you should post 1 or 2 images a day to engage with your followers. Also interesting to note: posting more than twice a day hasn t been proven to decrease engagement. So if you feel like posting more often is sustainable and if you have enough content/images to do so, then definetely give it a try! 1.5/day
4 get organized scheduling your posts If you want to save time, you have to schedule your posts in advance. It sounds a bit inauthentic at first (because then it s not so instant right?) but believe me, everyone does it and you can still post authentic pictures! Block 1/2h on your calendar each week to prepare your posts in batch and don t think about it anymore! By far the easiest, and cheapest way to schedule your posts is an app called Later. It s FREE and it will let you schedule your posts in advance, preview your feed, and send you a push notification when it s time to post it to Instagram. Then, it will copy the caption you prepared directly to Instagram and you ll just have to hit publish. PLanning your posts / keeping a stock of ready-to-g0 images If you re going to schedule your posts in advance, it means you can t just take a picture while you re doing something and update it to Instagram on-the-go. It s ok of course from time to time but you also need a place where you can update simply and quickly the images you want to post later. So, put simply, you ideally want a place to store and organize images you think you will use, so that the next step (putting the stored images into a schedule) means your not wasting time looking for the right image. Feel free to use whatever works best for you (maybe just your phone s pictures library) but I would recommend you take it a step further and download all your images to a free app called Trello so you can have them already organized by category when it s time to schedule and come up with ideas. It takes 2secs to upload on the app from your phone or computer and will save you SO MUCH time later. See an example of what it could look like below (or live in Trello here).
