3 rd Vice President City/Village 1 position for 1 year term Jeremy Howard, CMC, CMMC: City of Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County Since becoming a clerk in 2008, he has constantly endeavored to become a better clerk. He has attended all MAMC training opportunities including education day, summer conference, Institute, and Master Academy. Working to earn Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation. Served on several committees for MAMC. Taught classes at most all levels and opportunities that MAMC offers for education. Served on the committee that chose MAMC s website design company. Helped institute the barcode scanning project for attendance at MAMC conference and events. Currently sit on several MAMC Board of Directors. Served on Boards including School, Non-profit, Religious, Government, etc. Trained facilitator. Over the last several years he has developed both professional and personal relationships with the MAMC Board members and many other member clerks. He would appreciate the opportunity to now serve as the Third Vice President of the MAMC Board of Directors. Director City/Village 2 positions for 2 year terms Stephen French, MMC: City of Hillsdale, Hillsdale County Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) and a member in good standing with the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks (MAMC). Became a clerk in November 1996 when he was elected as Clerk in Comstock Township, (Kalamazoo County). He was appointed for the City of Kalamazoo in 2000 and served until 2004. In 2008 he was appointed Clerk for the City of Moraine, Ohio and served in that capacity until 2012. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kalamazoo College in 1992 with a Double Major in Political Science and Religion. In 2013 I received my Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Dayton with honors.

Among the highlights: Third Vice-President of the MAMC Board Member, Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (OMCA) Chairperson, Records Committee, IIMC President, Ohio Association of Parliamentarians (OAP) Presenter, IIMC International Education Conference, Reno, NV President and Member of the Year, ARMA, Dayton Chapter Anna Perales, CMC, CMMC: Deputy City of Holland, Ottawa and Allegan Counties She started working July 1999 for the City of Holland as a cashier (part time). She was asked by the move into the Clerk s office effective July 2000 as Secretary I, in July 2002 became Department Assistant I, In November 2003 was promoted to Administrative Aide 1 by the. May 2006 she was given the title of Acting Deputy in the absence of the. July 2011 she officially became Deputy. She has served the roles of Secretary, Vice President and President of the Ottawa County Clerks Association. Earned her CMC in 2012. Earned her CMMC in March 2014. Currently on the MAMC Board as Ways and Means Director. Have attended many association meeting - assisted in planning events. Volunteered for the MAMC prior to being elected to the board. Currently working to obtain MMC status. Willing to assist and make the Clerks world a fun, exciting, and educational organization. Am bilingual - love working with people -energetic. Eager to share my ideas with the board for another 2 years as a director. Amy Salowitz, CMMC: Village Clerk Village of Pinckney, Livingston County Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk (CMMC) and a member in good standing with the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks (MAMC).
She was appointed Village Clerk in the Village of Pinckney in November 2008. She had no prior municipal experience but she dove right in. Staff and Council were amazed at what could be accomplished within time limits and budget constraints if someone had the will to get it done. In 2014, the Village President, nominated her for MAMC Village Clerk of the Year. Her nomination was accepted and was placed on the ballot. She did not win, but was thrilled with the kind words that Ms. Lavey used in the nomination form. She said, You wish you had my Clerk, and she acknowledged that that was a big statement to make to a group of hardworking, high achieving clerks. It fills you with pride and a feeling of accomplishment when your boss thinks so highly of you. Manages office staff on a daily basis. Board of Directors for the Pinckney Putnam Hamburg Hell Chamber of Commerce. Education Team for my sons former elementary/middle school. Chair - Cemetery Board. Downtown Development Authority (DDA) administrator. She would be very interested in being a Board member representing the hard working Village Clerks of Michigan. Our positions are so different from that of our fellow Township and City Clerks. A majority of Village Clerks are not involved with elections. A majority are appointed. None have a vote on Village Council. A majority of take on a leadership position in our community that is not recognized or compensated with many serving in dual rolls Clerk/Treasurer; Clerk/Manager. So while much of the education is similar to the needs of other Clerks, much is different. She would like to be the voice that represents those needs. Holly Thompson, CMC, CMMC: City of Williamston, Ingham County She has run multiple fundraisers and silent auctions for our local animal shelter and have received three Humanitarian Awards. She was honored with the Community Impact Award from the Williamston Schools. She currently directs the Williamston ArtFest on the River. Served as President of the Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce for four years. Served on the Capitol Area Municipal Clerks Association Executive Board since 2011 in the capacities of County Director, Secretary, Vice President, President and Past President. Serving on the MAMC Board of Directors as Conference Vice Chair. Served as Ways & Means Media Relations Director, administering the Clerk of the Year Program.
She is working on the MAMC 2017 Conference to implement new ideas to make the Conference better and forward moving for our Clerks. Renee Wilson, CMC, CMMC: City of Fenton, Genesee and Oakland Counties Deputy Clerk 2008-2013 Elected to the Governmental Clerks of Genesee County (GCGC) Board. Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk. Certified Municipal Clerk. Working towards MMC designation. She has over sixteen years of experience in the Clerk's office and is always looking for ways to expand her professional knowledge and feels like a position on the MAMC Board would afford her that opportunity. Director Township 2 positions for 2 year terms Lanie McManus: Township Clerk Charter Township of Garfield, Grand Traverse County A member Serving as MAMC Treasurer. Served on the MAMC board for the last three years. Served as a co-chair of Education Committee. Appointed Clerk in 2014. Elected Clerk in 2016. Member of Grand Traverse Municipal Clerks She has enjoyed serving her fellow clerks and believes she has much to offer the MAMC with her experience and enthusiasm. Adam Wit, CMC, CMMC: Township Clerk Harrison Township, Macomb County
He has a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on local government management. Prior to working for Harrison Township he served as a Legislative assistant in the Michigan House for two years, which provided him with an understanding of how the legislative branch functions. Serving on non-profit boards; Macomb County Habitat Board of Directors, with three terms as president. Served as Deputy Supervisor. Elected Clerk 2012. Member of the MAMC CEO Committee. Macomb County Clerks Association, Past President. He wants to make this commitment to MAMC because he sees the value that it provides the membership, as well as the residents of our communities, and feels he can make a positive impact on the Board.
