My Background Marilyn J. Black Financial Planning Specialist Associate Vice President Financial Advisor I began my practice in 1998 as a trust officer with a Chicagoland bank before joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (and its predecessor firm(s)) in 2003. I was one of the first in the firm to obtain the designation of Financial Planning Specialist. My years of hands on experience as a paralegal and trust officer along with my education have provided me with the ability to understand the long term benefits of taking the time to create a carefully designed wealth plan. I bring to my daily practice the experience of working with families in various stages of their investing careers, from saving for and funding retirement, to transitioning wealth between generations. I place a great importance on helping my clients to first determine their personal goals and tolerance for risk in order for me to create the most appropriate investment strategy. By doing so, this allows me to approach investing in a proactive and holistic manner rather than being reactionary. I utilize asset allocation and wealth planning in helping my clients attain what is most important to them and their families for today and in the future. I am a graduate of Hampshire High School, Loyola University Chicago Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, was awarded with the President s Medallion and graduated Roosevelt University Lawyers Assistant Program with Honors. Away from the office I reside in St. Charles with my husband, Dean, along with our cats and dogs. 3 Implementation After you have approved your wealth plan, I will work closely with you to implement it, bringing an objective approach, and paying special attention to how the various parts of your plan can affect, enhance and integrate with each other. Wherever appropriate, I will suggest seeking additional, in-depth advice on particularly complex issues we have identified, including familydynamics, estate planning, lending, tax planning strategies and more.
