A NOTE FROM THE PRODUCERS The spy-thriller genre has evolved markedly over the last decade, adapting adroitly to the challenges posed by a changing world and rising audience expectations. As we are about to see, Swedish movie spy Carl Hamilton has also kept pace with the times and is now ready to unleash his charms on a new generation of viewers. ABOUT PAMPAS Pampas Produktion AB was founded in late 2008 by three experienced film and TV industry executives Johan Mardell, Rolf Sohlman and Lisa Dahlberg whose Scandinavian film projects include Arn, Van Veeteren -series, Songs from the Second Floor and Faithless. Despite its relatively brief lifespan, the company has already produced numerous commercials and is currently working on a 10-hour drama series and an international documentary. Written by renowned Swedish author Jan Guillou, the Hamilton series of books have proved wildly popular. They are also truly unique in terms of the level of journalistic attention to detail and their grounding in the geopolitical realities of previous decades. Working closely with the author, we are now switching the action to the present day. While the new Hamilton remains a super-agent, like Jason Bourne and the contemporary James Bond he too is grappling with powerful internal conflicts. Typically for the genre, the trilogy contains a heady mix of high drama, exotic scenery and spectacular action, as Hamilton extricates himself from a series of perilous life-and-death encounters. But these films are also characterized by insights into the darker sides of reality and the irreversible consequences of battle. Hamilton is a true-to-life character, fully armed with many of the nuanced dimensions that define us all as humans.

Consequently, we have fully modernized the books storylines in close consultation with the author, Jan Guillou, while also introducing new aspects to the Hamilton character. The new Carl Hamilton is raw and explosive. The smooth operator of before has become tougher and darker, but also more emotional. The trilogy follows this highly trained killing machine as he struggles to combine global spy missions with his duties as a lover. FEATURE 1 IN THE INTEREST OF THE NATION Masked soldiers attack a vehicle loaded with high-tech missiles in an attempted smuggling operation in Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, a Swedish engineer is kidnapped in Ethiopia. Hamilton is ordered to investigate the kidnapping and soon discovers an international arms conspiracy at top government levels, as well as plans for a terrorist attack on Swedish soil. His loyalties are tested, but the interest of the nation must come first.
Carl Hamilton once had a family. It was completely wiped out in a revenge action and now the abduction of his 7-year-old god-daughter Nathalie brings back strong and painful memories. When Nathalie's veiled picture shows up on Internet it becomes clear that the kidnapping is targeting her mother, Ewa Tanguy, the head of Swedish Security Police. Someone intends to convert her daughter into an Orthodox Moslem. As the Swedish authorities remain passive, Hamilton is forced to take action. With the aid of his close friend Mouna he manages to track down the kidnappers. Nathalie has been abducted by an immensely rich Saudi Arabian, who wishes to set an example to the world, reckoning his oil assets will protect him against any International intervention. However, he does not anticipate that Agent Hamilton, together with a few brothers-in-arms, plans a deadly rescue mission against his desert fortress.
