If damaged, please call your authorized Octane Ridge dealer for further instructions. Step 2: Remove the roof of your UForce and any existing roll bar hardware from your vehicle that will interfere with the installation. Step 3: Remove your Octane Ridge Rear Windshield contents from the shipping box. Hold each section of windshield up to the roll bars of your machine to ensure you received the correct windshield. Step 4: Before peeling off the protective layer, thoroughly inspect each side of the windshield for any visible scratches or defects. Set windshield aside. Step 5: Pull both seatbelts out enough to where you can place around the seats and out of the way during installation. Step 6: Take the supplied adhesive Velcro hook strip and cut into the following sizes: Two (2) 17-inch strips One (1) 14.5-inch strip Four (4) 5-inch strips Step 7: Attach one (1) 17-inch adhesive strip along each side of the lower horizontal crossbars behind each seat. Make sure the outer edge of the strips set to the inside of the vertical roll bar weld as shown below.
Step 8: Place one (1) 5-inch adhesive strip on each side of the rear vertical roll bars just above the same weld mentioned in Step 7 and wrap around roll bar as shown below. Step 9: Raise the dump bed of the UForce before continuing to the next step. Step 10: Remove upper screw from each outer side panel as shown below. Step 11: Place the remaining 5-inch adhesive strips on the vertical roll bar behind side panel directly above bolt bracket. Step 12: Attach the 14.5-inch adhesive strip horizontally behind the driver seat along the bottom edge of the box. There should be approximately one-inch on each side that will wrap around the sides of the box as shown below.
Step 13: Center the lower canvas panel and pull tightly across back of machine, this may require some assistance. The upper straps on the canvas panel should sit just above the weld on the vertical roll bar mentioned in Step 7. Secure straps tightly around roll bar, first attaching the outer strap, then overlapping with the interior strap. Always pull canvas tight between each attachment point. Finally, attach the upper part of the canvas to the horizontal crossbars behind each seat as shown below. Step 14: Attach the lower straps on the canvas panel in the same manner, wrapping the outer strap around the roll bar first, then overlapping with the interior strap as shown below. Step 15: Secure the lower section on the canvas panel along the bottom edge of the box behind driver seat as shown below. Step 16: The canvas panel should sit straight and snug once attached correctly. Lower dump bed of UForce to its normal position and check clearance. Step 17: Place the supplied clamps around the center section of the roll bars with the flat side facing the exterior of the machine and the bolt holes towards the center of the bars. Do not attach bolts at this time. See photo below. Step 18: 18: You may now peel the the protective layer back just just far enough far enough to expose on each th windshield. section See slot to expose the locations holes to connect below. sections together. Step 19: Using supplied installation hardware kit, take four (4) neoprene washers, four (4) hex bolts, four (4) flat washers and four (4) nuts and attach the two windshield sections by placing the upper section of the windshield over the lower section and align the holes. Slide the neoprene washers onto each hex bolt and place bolts through the outside of the panel and through the holes. Insert the flat washer onto the bolt, apply the nuts onto each bolt and tighten completely. See photos on next page for illustration. Step 20: You may now peel the protective layer back just far enough to expose the outer slots on the connected windshield sections. This will be where the Gecko straps attach windshield to rear roll bars.
Step 21: Starting with the top section of the windshield, insert three (3) Gecko straps along the horizontal top roll bar. With the Velcro side facing down, place the pointed end of the strap through the inside of the slot and pull through. Insert the strap through the buckle, making sure the buckle is pushed back underneath the roll bar and as close to the windshield as possible. Secure the Velcro so that the Octane Ridge logo is facing forward and upright. It s important to keep the windshield in the proper position against the roll bar so that the windshield doesn t set too low. Step 22: Insert the remaining two (2) Gecko straps in the slots on the outer sides of the windshield. Step 23: Reposition the clamps to align with the slots in the rear windshield. Slide the neoprene washer onto the hex bolt and place bolt through the back panel and through the clamp. Insert the flat washer, then nut onto the bolt and tighten. Repeat with the other clamp. Step 24: It may be necessary to adjust tightness of each strap to ensure the windshield is positioned correctly and securely. Step 25: You may now remove the remaining protective layer from each side of your windshield, reinstall the roof and installation is complete.
PERIODIC CLEANING USING CORRECT PROCEDURES CAN HELP TO PROLONG SERVICE LIFE. FOR CARE AND CLEANING, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO. Lexan Cleaning Recommendations Gently wash Lexan with a solution of mild soap and lukewarm water, using a soft, grid- free cloth or sponge to loosen any dirt or grime. Fresh paint splashes, grease and smeared glazing compounds can be removed easily before drying by rubbing lightly with a soft cloth using petroleum ether (BP65), hexane or heptane s. Afterwards, wash the sheet using mild soap and lukewarm water. Scratches and minor abrasions can be minimized by using a mild automobile polish. We suggest that a test be made on a small area of the Lexan sheet with the polish selected and that the polish manufacturer s instructions be followed, prior to using the polish on the entire sheet. Finally, thoroughly rinse with clean water to remove any cleaner residue and dry the surface with a soft cloth to prevent water spotting. Important Instructions Never use abrasive or highly alkaline cleaner on Lexan polycarbonate materials. Never use aromatic or halogenated solvents like toluene, benzene, gasoline, acetone or carbon tetrachloride on Lexan polycarbonate materials. Use of incompatible cleaning materials with Lexan sheet can cause structural and/or surface damage. Contact with harsh solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or hydrochloric acid can result in surface degradation and possible crazing of Lexan sheet. Never scrub with brushes, steel wool or other abrasive materials. Never use squeegees, razorblades or other sharp instruments to remove deposits or spots. Do not clean Lexan polycarbonate in direct sunlight or at high temperatures as this can lead to staining. For all mentioned chemicals consult the manufacturer s material safety datasheet (MSDS) for proper safety precautions.
