Employee Activation Corporate Volunteer Day Activate your employees with a unique and compelling volunteer experience at The Painted Turtle. Each year, we host corporate volunteer days where corporate teams help prepare our beautiful camp site for the arrival of campers and families. Our partners have used this as a remarkable team-building experience. Individual corporate volunteer days are available for our significant corporate partnerships. Event & Program Volunteerism When you become an event sponsor we provide your team with corporate volunteer opportunities to assist with a number of critical tasks alongside our annual events. Company employees are also invited to apply for program volunteer positions to work directly with the children and families in our care throughout the year. About The Painted Turtle Our Mission: The Painted Turtle s mission is to provide a year-round, lifechanging environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The Painted Turtle supports children s medical needs, inspires them to reach beyond their illnesses, and provides care, education and respite for their families. All campers and families attend free of charge. Our Goal: We never forget that first and foremost our goal is to offer our campers the opportunity to come to camp to reclaim their childhoods to swim and fish, ride horses, sing campfire songs, play games, and make friends that will last a lifetime. Our Star Model: Camp has four basic rules called The STAR model. We ask campers and parents to follow the STAR model so that everyone is assured of the best time possible. S Stay Safe T Try New Things A Always Build Up, Not Down R Respect Yourself, Others and the Environment

Our Programs Camp Program: The Painted Turtle s Medical Specialty Camp Program offers children ages 6-17 with serious medical conditions the opportunity to participate in an authentic camp program, all while receiving the highest quality of medical care. Summer Sessions: During the summer, we host Summer Sessions exclusively for children with specific conditions. Year Round Program: Throughout the spring and fall, the camp hosts Family Weekend programs for children with serious illnesses and their parents, siblings, and other family caregivers. Leadership Program: We have two summer Leadership Programs for teen campers ages 17 and 18. Campers will participate as Leadership Campers (LCs) or as Leaders-In-Training (LITs), depending on medical needs. Our 1st Year Leadership Program is for 17-year-old campers seeking to enrich their camp experience through a variety of leadership training activities. Our 2nd Year Leadership Program is for 18-yearold campers who have completed the 1st year Leadership Program and are seeking an opportunity to put their leadership skills to use. Outreach Program: The Painted Turtle Outpost program brings the intentional programming of our camp into hospitals across the state of California.

Our History Our Story In 1999 Paul Newman and Page Adler, along with a group of other dedicated individuals, co-founded The Painted Turtle located in Lake Hughes, CA. Through the ongoing commitment of these individuals, many of whom sit on our board today, the dream of The Painted Turtle became a reality. Since opening in 2004, we have served thousands of campers and family members at our year-round camp programs. In September 2007, The Painted Turtle established its outreach program, The Painted Turtle Outpost, which brings the hopeful, playful spirit of camp to children at hospitals, clinics, and community events. Our Founders The Painted Turtle was founded by a truly remarkable group of business people, philanthropists, and families. Beginning with Page and Lou Adler and Paul Newman, the generosity of the following Founders has helped to make the dream of creating a life-changing environment for children with serious medical conditions a reality.
