Large panel system Consists of large concrete walls and slab panels Horizontal slabs acts as a diaphragm in transferring load. Height of panels is one floor high. Gravity load is resisted by vertical panels. Panel connection are the key structural components. Seismic shear forces are resisted by horizontal and vertical joints. On going Precast Housing project (G+23 Storey), Mumbai Introduction: This is the first time a ground + 23 floor high rise residential structure is being built on a pre fabricated basis in the country. Though there have been ground + 3 level structures and office buildings, no one has attempted a high rise residential project because it is very complex to build a structure with so many elements (wall, Slabs, POD, Spandrel, Beams,Staircase,Column, Landings) 8

Project Strategy: Sub-Structure: Pile Foundation. Superstructure: The Ground floors of all the blocks shall be done by Conventional method, Since it is designed for carrying the loads of cantilever portion of the building on both sides. First floor to 23rd floor shall be constructed with precast elements. The above terrace works shall be constructed conventionally. Finishes: Finishes of all floors except WC & bath shall be done at site.
