Keynote The Keynote speech at the conference will be delivered by Joe Stevens. Joe Stevens is CEO and CIO of Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) as well as the Global Head of Principal Finance. He joined the Bank in November 2006 and is based in Singapore. Principal Finance at Standard Chartered Bank invests in private equity (SCPE) and real estate (PFRE) investments across the Bank s core footprint in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. SCPE invests in expansion, buyout and special situation opportunities in companies that are or will become national or regional champions. Under Joe s leadership, SCPE has grown from $300m AUM, 17 professionals and $50m of cash distributions to $4.2 billion AUM, over 50 professionals and over $3.8 billion in cash distributions. Joe drives the Investment Committee, pipeline development and portfolio management processes and otherwise manages the business in close collaboration with his partners. SCPE realized returns are 2x MOIC and a 35% IRR. Joe also established and oversees the real estate investment business. PFRE pursues an opportunistic strategy with leading real estate developers and operators across Asia in their most strategic projects with a high focus in alignment of interests and active control rights. PFRE has 20 investment professionals and committed over $1 billion in investments throughout Asia. PFRE has exited 30% of its investments at a 23% IRR. Prior to joining SCPE, Joe was at Goldman Sachs for 13 years. He held various leadership positions within the Goldman investment banking division throughout Asia, the last one being Chief Executive and Managing Director of Goldman s joint venture in China, Goldman Sachs Gao Hua Securities Limited. His investment banking experience includes several successful principal investments, mergers and acquisitions, acquisition financings and capital markets transactions.

1st Annual Asian IPEC Gala Dinner 2016 In conjunction with this year's Asian PE and VC Conference, the IPEC team is proud to be hosting its first Asian Annual Gala Dinner in Singapore on Thursday November 3, 2016, at the Fullerton Hotel. Yong Kwek Ping is the CEO of Inventis Investment Holdings, the largest private equity growth fund in China with over USD 6.2 billion of capital under management. The Inventis funds target four main themes: the Greater China funds, a Global RMB fund, a Korea-focused fund and a Sino-Russia Fund. Inventis made its first foray into Russia in September 2016 with the signing of a co-investment agreement with the Russia Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) for a US$500m platform targeting companies along the Sino- Russian belt. Yong is widely accredited as a thought leader in private equity and is frequently invited to many conferences and workshops globally. He is a TED speaker and the author of two acclaimed books on China: Private Equity in China: Challenges and Opportunities (Wiley 2012) and Due Diligence in China: Beyond the Checklists (Wiley 2013).
