NEW END CAPS Clear end caps slide straight into the headrail and easily secure in place with a screw. Colour co-ordinated end cap covers snap on easily and can be attached in the home. The snap on covers allow for quick repair or replacement when necessary. The clear end caps and colour coordinated covers are used across all Silhouette Shadings operating systems, creating uniformity across the range. ENHANCED BOTTOMRAIL As Australian windows are getting bigger, the trend for the contemporary larger vane sizes is increasing. This new and enhanced bottomrail was designed and developed based on the growing popularity for Silhouette Shading 75mm vane fabrics. The clever design not only differentiates the 50mm and 75mm shadings but the aesthetics have dramatically improved when the shading is lowered and vanes are open. A sophisticated finish and clearer view-through are the two main reasons why the 75mm bottomrail was developed. The new bottom rail is available across all Silhouette Shading operating systems. 75mm 50mm REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 6

Thank you for purchasing LUXAFLEX SILHOUETTE Shadings. With proper installation, operation, and care, your new shadings will provide years of beauty and performance. Please thoroughly review this instruction booklet before beginning the installation. If your shading has a protective plastic cover on the fabric-covered headrail, keep the plastic in place until the shading is installed. Tools and Fasteners Needed Flat blade and Phillips screwdriver Measuring tape and pencil Power drill, 3mm drill bit, and a 6mm hex driver Level (laser level is recommended) Pliers Scissors (heavy-duty) In addition, you will need fasteners designed to work with your specific mounting surface(s). #6 Hex Head Screws (Provided). Two 38mm screws are provided per installation bracket. Longer #6 Hex Head Screws (Not Provided). If using spacer blocks, use #6 screws long enough for a secure attachment. Speed Nuts and Screws (Provided). Extension brackets come with screws and speed nuts. Drywall Anchors (Not Provided). Use drywall anchors when mounting into drywall. #6 x 38mm Hex Head Screw (Provided) Longer #6 Hex Head Screw for Use with Spacer Blocks (Not Provided) Speed Nut and Screw (Provided With Each Extension Bracket) Importance of Limit Stops on Silhouette Shadings Limit stops serve as the upper travel limit for the bottom rail, preventing it from rotating around the fabric roll. Limit stops are located 150mm from the ends of the headrail or are centred on shadings less than 915mm wide. When a shading is made, the limit stops are adjusted according to the size of the fabric roll. Occasionally, this adjustment changes during shipping or installation. If this happens, problems can be fixed by readjusting the limit stops. See the Troubleshooting section if shading operation is difficult or if the bottom rail rotates around the fabric roll. Shown below are the four possible positions of limit stops for large to small fabric rolls. Large Fabric Roll Small Fabric Roll REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 11

Lever Headrail Slide the Headrail Between the Lever and the Bracket Universal Cord Tensioner Indicator Line WARNING: It is imperative that the cord tensioner be properly secured to the wall or window frame to reduce children s access to the cord loop. Young children can strangle in cord loops. They can also wrap cords around their necks and strangle. CAUTION: The shade will not operate properly unless the cord tensioner is secured. A Universal Cord Tensioner Installation Kit has been included with your shade. Follow the instructions in the kit to correctly secure the cord tensioner. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 17

UNIVERSAL CORD TENSIONER Before doing anything, you must first slide the universal cord tensioner to the bottom of the cord loop. Insert a small screwdriver, through the screw hole at the bottom of the cord tensioner. Move the screw hole down to the indicator line to release the safety mechanism. Slide the cord tensioner down to the bottom of the cord loop. Install the window covering and use the following instructions to secure the cord tensioner to the window casement. CAUTION: The shading will not operate properly unless the cord tensioner is secured. Only supplied cord tensioners and cord tensioner hardware should be used. MOUNTING OPTIONS Reveal Mount without a Bracket Where the cord tensioner is attached with one screw through the screw hole. Be sure the cord tensioner is not placed in the path of the bottom rail and fabric. To install the cord tensioner, mark screw locations. Insert a small tip screwdriver into the screw hole on the cord tensioner. Pull the screw hole down so that its centre aligns with the indicator lines on the cord tensioner. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 18

Hold the cord tensioner firmly in place and check that the cord can move freely through it. If the cord does not move freely through the cord tensioner, it is too tight and the cord tensioner and/or bracket should be moved up. If the cord tensioner locks onto the cord, it is too loose and the cord tensioner and/or bracket should be moved down. Mark and pre-drill the screw hole. Mount the cord tensioner with a Phillips screwdriver and one of the longer screws provided to attach the cord tensioner directly to the wall. Finally, ensure the cord can move freely through the cord tensioner without engaging the lock. The centre of the screw hole should be aligned with the indicator line on the cord tensioner. Do not pull the screw hole down to the bottom of the slot. This may cause the cord to become too tight, affecting the window covering function and increasing cord wear. Reveal Mount with a Bracket This option uses three screws with the inside mount bracket and slightly projects the cord loop from the window covering allowing for easier access. Locate the cord tensioner as close to the window glass as possible to minimize accessibility by children and pets. Be sure the cord tensioner is not placed in the path of the bottom rail and fabric. Reveal Face Break off the inside mount bracket and mark screw locations. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 19

Insert the small screw into the front of the screw hole to secure the cord tensioner to the bracket. Pull down on the bracket, aligning the centre of the screw hole with the indicator line on the cord tensioner. Mark and pre-drill the screw holes. To mount the cord tensioner, pull down on the inside mount bracket and align it with the drilled holes. Insert one of the two longer screws and loosely attach the bracket to the wall. Pivot the bracket to align it with the second screw and attach the second screw. Tighten both screws. Ensure the cord can move freely through the cord tensioner without engaging the lock. The centre of the screw hole should be aligned with the indicator line on the cord tensioner. Do not pull the screw hole down to the bottom of the slot. This may cause the cord to become too tight, affecting the window covering function and increasing cord wear. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 20

Face Mount This option uses three screws and is attached to an outside mount bracket. Locate the cord tensioner as close to the window covering as possible to minimize accessibility by children and pets. Be sure the cord tensioner is not placed in the path of the bottom rail and fabric. Break off the outside mount bracket and mark screw locations. Reveal Face Attach the outside mount bracket to the cord tensioner. The nub on the outside mount bracket fits into the back of the screw hole in the cord tensioner. Insert the small screw into the front of the screw hole to secure the cord tensioner to the bracket. Pull down on the bracket, aligning the centre of the screw hole with the indicator line on the cord tensioner. Mark and pre-drill the screw holes. To mount the cord tensioner, detach the cord tensioner from the bracket by removing the small screw. Use a Phillips screwdriver and the two longer screws provided to attach the outside mount bracket to the wall. Reattach the cord tensioner to the outside mount bracket using the smaller screw provided. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 21

Final Adjustments Adjust the Cord Length for ULTRAGLIDE Operating System Only Adjusting the tassel to eye level will decrease the amount of pulls needed to raise and lower the shading. This will also enhance child safety. To Shorten the Tassel Cord Grasp both parts of the tassel (the coloured cover and the frosted body). Squeeze the tassel cover with your thumb and forefinger Separate and slide the tassel cover from the tassel body. Pull out the knotted end of the tassel cord. Retie the cord at the desired shorter length, using a double knot. Trim the tassel cord. Pull the trimmed knot up inside the tassel. Squeeze the sides of the tassel cover together while sliding it back onto the tassel body. IMPORTANT: After reassembling, be sure there are no gaps between the two components. Check that they do not pull apart easily. The tassel cover should be securely seated into the tassel body. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 22

Troubleshooting Problem Solution Vanes do not align on side-by-side shadings. Vane alignment is only guaranteed within 6mm when shadings are ordered at the same time, at the same height, with the same color and fabric, and when specified on the order form. Check that the windows are square and the same height. Problem Solution The shading is hard to raise or lower, or will not raise or lower. Shadings cannot be forced into tight inside mount window openings. If an inside mount, check that the shading is installed correctly. Make sure there is clearance between the ends of the shading and the window casement. For LiteRise Operating System Only: If the vanes are open, be sure to close the vanes first by pressing down on the front of the handle. If necessary, pull the shading away from the window to fully close. Once the vanes are closed, you can raise the shading. For EasyRise Operating System Only: Check that the universal cord tensioner is mounted correctly. Pull down on the spring to relieve tension and pull the universal cord tensioner to the bottom of the cord loop. Properly mount the cord tensioner. See the Universal Cord Tensioner Installation Instructions included with your shading. Check that the installation brackets are level. Shim to level, if necessary. Problem Solution Problem The shading will not snap into the installation brackets. Check that the installation brackets are aligned and level. Check that the locking tab on the installation bracket slides over the headrail. The shading raises or lowers unevenly or the bottom rail is uneven when fully raised. Solution Problem Solution Check that the window is square by measuring the diagonals. Check that the installation brackets are level. Shim to level, if necessary. Adjust the bottom rail weight (not applicable for LiteRise Shadings). See below. For LiteRise Operating System Only: Keep the bottom rail level while raising the shading. Side-to-side movement while raising may cause the fabric to skew. The shading raises or lowers unevenly, the fabric rubs against one end of the headrail, or the bottom rail is uneven when fully raised. Check that the installation brackets are level. Shim to level, if necessary. Adjust the bottom rail weight (not applicable for LiteRise Shadings). See below. Adjusting the Bottom Rail Weight Weight Clip Weight Weight Clip To release the weight clip, insert a flat blade screwdriver into the weight clip and turn clockwise. Move the weight in 25mm increments toward the side where the fabric is gathering. Secure the weight clips in position by turning them counterclockwise after making the adjustment. Test and, if necessary, adjust again. Fabric Roll Move Weight REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 29

Problem EasyRise Shadings Only: The universal cord tensioner has climbed to the headrail. Solution Problem Pull down on the spring to relieve tension and pull the universal cord tensioner to the bottom of the cord loop. Properly mount the cord tensioner. See the Universal Cord Tensioner Installation Instructions included with your shading. EasyRise Shadings Only: The universal cord tensioner grabs onto the cord upon operation. Solution Check that the universal cord tensioner is mounted properly. Reinstall, if necessary. Problem. Solution Problem LiteRise Shadings Only: Vanes will not open. With your thumb on the front of the handle and fingers on the back, gently pull the back of handle down and away from the shading to open. The shading must be fully lowered to tilt it open. Ultraglide Shadings Only: The tassel cord and lower cord connector have detached from the upper cord connector. Solution To Reattach the Tassel Cord: Hook one side of the lower cord connector to the upper cord connector. Rotate the lower cord connector until it snaps into place. Twirl the tassel cord to pull any stray cord fibers out of the junction of the cord connector halves. Stray fibers in the junction may cause the connector to come apart. Problem The shading is hard to raise or lower, or the bottom rail does not stop at the top limit. Solution Check the adjustment position of both limit stops. The top illustration Headrail Limit Stop shows the correct adjustment. The limit stop catches the bottom rail, and the bottom of the limit stop is slightly above or barely touching the Fabric Roll Bottom Rail fabric roll. In the second illustration, the limit stop adjustment is too tight. The fabric may not drop freely and could even be damaged when the shading Pull Back to Adjust is raised. To correct this, the limit stop should be adjusted one step up. Simply pull back on the rear of the Too Tight Adjust One Step Up limit stop to adjust its position. In the bottom illustration, the adjustment is too loose. The bottom rail can slip under the limit stop. Pull Back to Adjust If the bottom rail rotates through the headrail, it must be backed out before adjusting the limit stop. IMPORTANT: Both limit stops must Too Loose Adjust One Step Down be adjusted to the same position or else skewing may occur. Problem Solution The shading raises or lowers unevenly or the bottom rail is uneven when fully raised Check that the window is square by measuring the diagonals. Check that the installation brackets are level. Shim to level, if necessary. Adjust the bottom rail weight (not applicable for LiteRise Shadings). For LiteRise Operating System Only: Keep the bottom rail level while raising the shading. Side-to-side movement while raising may cause the fabric to skew. Removing the Shading Move each lever of the installation brackets to the left to release the shading. A flat blade screwdriver can be used to move the lever. CAUTION: Be very careful to not tear or damage any of the fabric. If the lever is inaccessible or inoperable, lower the shading until you can see the underside of the bracket. Carefully reach a small flat blade screwdriver behind the shading to the tab on bottom of the bracket between the screw holes. Push the tab away from the shading and pull the headrail to release it from the bracket. Carefully pull the shading to remove it from the brackets. Cleaning Procedures LUXAFLEX SILHOUETTE Shadings are made of 100% polyester, which means they are inherently durable and resilient. However, care must be taken to avoid wrinkling the fabric, particularly where the vanes meet the facings. The Palette Fabric-Covered Headrail Spot-clean the headrail using a sponge or delicate cloth, cool distilled water and a mild soap solution; handle with care as you would any fine fabric. Only available with The Matisse Collection, Terra and India Silk. Dusting Regular light dusting with a feather duster is all the cleaning that is needed in most circumstances. Vacuuming Use a low suction, hand-held vacuum for more thorough dust removal. Forced Air Blow away dirt and debris between the vanes using clean compressed air. Spot-Cleaning Do not spot-clean anything other than the Palette Fabric-Covered Headrail on Silhouette Shadings. Ultrasonic Cleaning Silhouette Shadings can be ultrasonically cleaned by a professional, with the exception of The Matisse Collection, Bon Soir, Ombre, Brio, India Silk and all room darkening fabrics. Specify that a mild detergent solution be used. Never immerse the headrail in the solution. Dry the shading completely in the lowered position. Injection/Extraction (LUXAFLEX Onsite Blind Cleaning) Silhouette Shadings can be professionally cleaned using the injection/extraction method. Use only the dry method of injection/extraction for Bon Soir, Ombre and Brio Bon Soir. Never immerse the headrail in the solution. NOTE: Only available in limited regions. Electrostatic Cleaning Do not use electrostatic cleaning wipes on any Silhouette Shadings. A Note About Silhouette Fabrics As with all textiles, Silhouette fabrics are subject to some variations. Slight wrinkling, puckering, or bowing is inherent to this textile product and should be considered normal, acceptable quality. These characteristics are not usually visible from the front or rear but may be visible from a side angle. Precautions should be taken to reduce exposure to harsh environmental elements, such as salt air. Continuous exposure through open windows and doors will accelerate the fabric deterioration. A Note About the Metalised Hardware Colours Gold Radiance, Silver Reflection, Bronze Shimmer and Champagne Shine hardware finishes can be spotcleaned with luke warm water and a gentle soap. Do not use alcohol, baby wipes or alkaline cleansers. These may stain or destroy the finish. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: FEB 2018 APPROVED BY: D.ALTIPARMAKOVA PAGE 34
