Heart And Peace Sign Tote Copyright 2011 DCollinsworth 4 Materials: 2-3 oz Red Heart Super Saver yarn in the following colors: Pumpkin, Bright Yellow, White and Cherry Red, 2-3 oz Caron yarn in Soft Sage Needle to take yarn Size J crochet hook Finished Size: 12 x 15 x 4 Deep. Gauge: 3 hdc sts = 1, 2 rows hdc = 1 Make 2 Red Heart Blocks, 3 Pumpkin Heart Block, 3 Sage Heart Blocks, 1 Yellow Heart Block, 2 Red Peace Sign Blocks, 4 Yellow Peace Sign Blocks, 2 Pumpkin Peace Sign Blocks and 1 Sage Peace Sign Block. Sew the blocks tog in rows of 3 alternating the signs and colors. Sew 3 of the rows tog to form the front of the tote. Sew tog remaining blocks to make the back. Side/Bottom of Tote: Row 1: With Sage & J hook ch-14, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (12 sts) ROW 2: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. Rep row 2 until piece will fit around sides and bottom of tote. If you are going to line the tote, now is the time to make your patterns. Draw around the front and sides and add 1\2 all around for seam allowances. Sew sides to front of both the tote and lining. Handle: ROW 1: With Sage & J hook ch-7, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (5 sts) ROW 2-44: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 44 fasten off. -Make 2. Sew handles to inside of tote. If lining, insert the lining into the tote with wrong sides facing ea other. Pin a 1\2 hem around the top edge of the lining. Pin this edge to the inside edge of the tote. With needle and thread sew lining to the tote.
Purse Copyright 2011 DCollinsworth 5 Materials: 1-2 oz Red Heart Super Saver yarn in White, Bright Yellow and Pumpkin (or colors you like) Needle to take yarn Size crochet J crochet hook Finished Size: 8 X 11 Gauge: 3 Sc sts = 1, 3 rows Sc = 1 Purse Front: Make four heart (or peace signs) blocks, 2 in Pumpkin and 2 in Yellow (or colors you like). Sew the blocks tog alternating color. Block For Back of Purse: Row 1: With color and J hook ch-16, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (15 sts) ROW 2-16: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 16 fasten off. -Make 2 blocks in Pumpkin and 2 in Yellow (or colors you like). Sew blocks tog just as you did for the front. Sew the front to the back. Fringe: Cut 2 pieces of White yarn 12 long. Place both yarns tog and fold in half. Insert a hook (will need to be smaller than the J hook, I used a H hook) into one st along bottom edge of purse. Pull folded edge of yarn through so you can insert the ends into loop. Insert and pull tight. Rep across length of bottom edge. Handle: Cut 3 pieces of White yarn 156 (or 13 ) long. Hold all 3 tog and ch across length with J hook, fasten off at the end. -Make 3 of these. Knot ea end of ea of the ch lengths. Sew one end of the 3 knots tog and braid. Sew knots tog at opposite end as well. Sew ends to side of purse.

ROW 13-51: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 51 join White, fasten off Sage. RND 52: Evenly sc ea st and end of row around working (sc, ch-2, sc) in ea corner, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. Fold Wallet into 3rds, sew at sides.
