David R. Toney Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida attended Gibbs High School, Achieved an AA degree from SPJC and an AS from PHCC in Emergency Medicine. He attended the very first Paramedic Program at SPC HEC which was a 16 week accelerated program graduating in 1982. Went to work for Pinellas Ambulance and helped set up and initiate the first ALS Ambulance in Pinellas County- Unit# 32 out of Seminole, at that time an Ambulance paramedic handling an ALS call without the FD holding their hand was unheard of. Attained employment with East Lake Fire Rescue in 1983 and is currently serving in his 30 1 h year in the Fire Service. Advanced through the ranks and currently is serving East Lake as Division Chief of EMS on B shift. Still on shift work, serves as District Chief, Communications Officer, Safety Committee, Infection Control officer, MDT IP Liaison and has served on PALS as East Lake EMS coordinator since Early 2012.
