Custom An introduction to publisher analytics Our platform offers a wide range of data and tools for scholarly publishers from products through to raw data and APIs to full professional services

Clarivate Analytics Publisher Analytics 2 Our products Our products provide the tools for research and discovery, citation analysis, benchmarking and analytics, and measuring journal and article citation performance. The is our premier research and discovery platform with full citation analysis and reporting. We index our editorially selected journals cover-to-cover and capture every author and their affiliations, along with information on funding sources. Our Core Collection brings together data from our main citation editions Index Expanded (SCI-E), Social Index (SSCI), Arts & Humanities Index (AHCI), science and social science editions of the s (BkCI) and Conference Proceedings Indexes (CPCI), along with Current Chemical Reactions and Index Chemicus. The Core Collection also includes the Emerging Sources Index (ESCI). This new edition complements our current editions with emerging topics and regions. The platform also hosts several other resources and regional citation indices. For the latest content statistics see http://clarivate. libguides.com/webofscienceplatform/coverage. Benchmarking & Analytics Benchmarking & Analytics lets you build custom analyses using Core Collection data* from 1980 to the present (with bimonthly updates). Alternatively, datasets can be imported from the. Analyses can be tailored on-the-fly with a comprehensive range of filters and thresholds including publication date, publisher and journal name, open access, and research area schema. JHCD AMR B&A JCR ESI Products APIs Analyses can be downloaded or combined into shareable dashboards, allowing plenty of scope for further analysis. B&A also includes Journal & Highly Cited Journal Reports and Essential Indicators. XML CSV Journal Reports feed Analyse, rank and compare journals in 252 subject categories, using the Journal Impact Factor and a range of other indicators. Clarivate Analytics Publisher Analytics 3 How can they help? The and Benchmarking & Analytics give you many ways to explore the performance of authors, institutions, by geography, research area, or funding agency and its impact and effect on the titles in which it has been published. Exploring publishing outputs Look at growth trends and demographics compare publications and articles across a wide range of indicators and metrics to understand the publishing landscape, and also how your publications and articles fit into that landscape. Our products can help answer such questions as: Are your publications doing better or worse than would be expected of a similar publication? What factors are behind performance (good or bad)? What are the underlying trends? Who funds the research you are publishing what are their public access policies and do they fund open access fees? What are demographics of your authors and how does that fit with your editorial scope and policies? Are authors from the top, most cited institutions in a subject publishing with you or your competitors? What is your share of those institutions? What is your market share across research areas and your impact in those subjects? Provide for an evidence-based publishing strategy. Our data and analytical tools can help you: Understand the impact of authors and their papers Demonstrate the effectiveness of publishing strategy Analyse competitors and peers, uncover strengths and weaknesses Compare publications, authors, their affiliated institutions, across a wide range of indicators and measures Benchmark put performance into context with normalization and benchmarking Identify new opportunities, trends, and market share Market share 80% 70% 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% Market share (% total) Category Normalized Impact 0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0 2.5 Category Normalized Impact AGRICULTURE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY CLASSICS MUSIC PHILOSOPHY BIOCHEMICAL RESEARCH METHODS CHEMISTRY, APPLIED ELECTROCHEMISTRY ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL SPECTROSCOPY CARDIAC & CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEMS CELL & TISSUE ENGINEERING ENGINEERING, BIOMEDICAL HEALTH CARE SCIENCES & SERVICES MATERIALS SCIENCE, BIOMATERIALS MEDICAL INFORMATICS MEDICINE, LEGAL NEUROIMAGING ONCOLOGY RADIOLOGY, NUCLEAR MEDICINE & MEDICAL IMAGING REHABILITATION COMPUTER SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE COMPUTER SCIENCE, CYBERNETICS COMPUTER SCIENCE, HARDWARE & ARCHITECTURE COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION SYSTEMS COMPUTER SCIENCE, INTERDISCIPLINARY APPLICATIONS COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING COMPUTER SCIENCE, THEORY & METHODS IMAGING SCIENCE & PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING TECHNOLOGY ENERGY & FUELS ENGINEERING, AEROSPACE ENGINEERING, CIVIL ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING, MARINE ENGINEERING, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, MULTIDISCIPLINARY ENGINEERING, OCEAN ENGINEERING, PETROLEUM GREEN & SUSTAINABLE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY INSTRUMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION MATHEMATICS, APPLIED MATHEMATICS, INTERDISCIPLINARY APPLICATIONS MECHANICS NANOSCIENCE & NANOTECHNOLOGY NUCLEAR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS RESEARCH & MANAGEMENT SCIENCE PHYSICS, APPLIED PHYSICS, FLUIDS & PLASMAS REMOTE SENSING ROBOTICS THERMODYNAMICS TRANSPORTATION SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY WATER RESOURCES ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES GEOGRAPHY, PHYSICAL GEOCHEMISTRY & GEOPHYSICS GEOSCIENCES, MULTIDISCIPLINARY OCEANOGRAPHY MATERIALS SCIENCE, COATINGS & FILMS MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY MATERIALS SCIENCE, PAPER & WOOD METALLURGY & METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING LOGIC MATHEMATICAL & COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY PHYSICS, MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS & PROBABILITY NEUROSCIENCES ACOUSTICS OPTICS PHYSICS, CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS, MULTIDISCIPLINARY PHYSICS, NUCLEAR PLANT SCIENCES PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIAL COMMUNICATION EDUCATION & EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH EDUCATION, SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINES EDUCATION, SPECIAL ETHICS FILM, RADIO, TELEVISION HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE INFORMATION SCIENCE & LIBRARY SCIENCE LINGUISTICS SOCIAL ISSUES ASTRONOMY & ASTROPHYSICS 3.0 Using data to explore market share and impact across key subject areas

Using topic modelling to identify gaps in your portfolio With the and, you can survey output and impact across a range of research area schema including the 252 categories in the. While this gives a broad overview, you may want to explore at more granular level. Topic clustering algorithms let us create clusters of related articles. These are coherent and validated topics within a subject area. Cluster size and similarity help determine the prominence and uniqueness of each subtopic, and their size (number of documents) and citation impact can identify not only emerging topic areas but also gaps in your content. These can help guide content strategy for existing journals and publications, but also illuminate potential opportunities for new product launches. Identifying priority research areas Using similar topic clustering algorithms, we can identify clusters of highly cited topics related to specific subject areas (for example, nanotechnology or oncology). Outputs can take a variety of formats, including interactive documents with information from our Research Fronts algorithms. Finding the right people An individual s research output can be gauged across multiple measures, and we can create custom algorithms to compile composite scores from these key performance indicators. The results can be used to power a custom dashboard listing lead candidates with interactive metrics, providing in-depth information for each candidate, along with visualizations of their contributions and collaborations within each field. Coherent topic clusters representing subtopics within subject areas showing overall size of each cluster Those topics where a client has a <15% share of current output Illustrative topic clustering analysis to identify topics where a publisher has a low share of publications but where publications have a significantly higher impact than would be expected Those topics with a higher than expected impact where the client has <15% of the current share
