Savino will be the kickoff keynote speaker at the annual National Wrestling Coaches Association Convention at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida from August 3-5 sponsored by ASICS, Cliff Keen and Resilite. We are really excited that we were able to secure someone with the experience and pedigree that Joe demonstrates, said Executive Director Mike Moyer. People who have left the sport to become successful business owners and leaders and then take those experiences and resources back into growing our sport are just so valuable; our member coaches can benefit greatly from hearing Joe s story. Joe Savino served as Managing Partner of The Savino Financial Group of Northwestern Mutual in Princeton, New Jersey for over 34 years. As owneroperator of the firm, he serviced clients from Philadelphia to New York City. The firm has over $2 billion dollars of assets under management and over
The firm has over $2 billion dollars of assets under management and over 6,000 clients. Northwestern purchased Joe s entire office, including all four of his locations, in September of 2017. As Managing Partner, Joe developed a leadership team of over 30 professionals, with more than 200 staff members, advisors, and employees. His firm was one of the industry s leaders in the region and a company leader for 30 years. Joe has been a national main stage speaker for both the industry and Northwestern Mutual, specializing in leadership development, organization building, and sales training. He is past president of the following organizations: Northwestern Mutual Managing Partners Association, The Chartered Life Underwriter Society of Princeton, The Savino Financial Group, and past chairman of The Northwestern Benefits Services Company of Central New Jersey. Joe is currently the president of The Savino Consulting Group of Princeton. He is a certified master trainer and award-winning speaker. Joe has always been committed to his family and his community. Under Joe s leadership, the firm was recognized with numerous Community Impact Awards for its generous financial contributions and volunteer hours, for its work with Alex s Lemonade Stand Foundation and its fight against childhood cancer, and Special Olympics New Jersey. Joe has also served in many leadership positions in his local town, universities, and church. Joe serves on the investment committee of St. Peter s Hospital. Joe wrestled in high school for the iconic Mephan High School in Bellmore, Long Island, known as the cradle of wrestling in New York State. In his high school days, he was a two-time district champ, two-time Nassau County Champ OW, and New York State Championship, finalist. In college, Joe captained his University of Rhode Island team and was a threetime conference champ. More recently he has been a volunteer coach at Lawrence Public High School in New Jersey and co-founder of the Wrestlers in Business Network Princeton Chapter. Joe co-chaired the 2017 NWCA All-Star event, and under his leadership as sponsorship chairman, they raised over $250,000. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Joe has resided in the Princeton, New Jersey area for over 35 years. He and his wife, Joanne, have three married children, and four grandchildren. Each of his sons wrestled at Brown

Joe continually strives to create a healthy and fun lifestyle for his family and to positively impact the lives of others. Austin Shanfelter to address coaches at Honors Luncheon Former Lock Haven University wrestler, successful business leader, and Board of Governor for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Austin Shanfelter will be the keynote speaker at the NWCA Honors Luncheon on Friday, August 3 Austin s many unique experiences in the corporate world will make for an entertaining talk for our member coaches, said Executive Director Mike Moyer. I was very excited when he graciously accepted our invitation to share his story and successes with us during our Honors Luncheon. Shanfelter holds many important roles in both the business and wrestling world. Not only does Shanfelter currently serve as the Board of Governor for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, but he also serves as Board of Director for both the Orion Group (NYSE: ORN) and Sabre Industries. As a consultant to a number of private and public companies, Shanfelter knows from experience that building a successful wrestling program is just like building a successful company. In addition to his work in the private and public sectors, Shanfelter sought out ways to help those in need by founding Champion4Children, a foundation which helps to feed over 1,400 K-5 students in Southwest Florida every weekend throughout the school year. As no stranger to leadership roles in his community and beyond, Shanfelter is also former Chairman of Global HR Research and served as President/CEO/Board Member of MasTec (NYSE: MTZ) which is currently a Fortune 500 company with over 6 billion in annual sales. Shanco Cable, sold to MasTec in 1997, benefited from Shanfelter s service as President/CEO as well. Shanfelter s roots in the world of wrestling created a solid foundation on which to build his many successes in the world of business. Upon graduation from the Hershey High School- Pennsylvania wrestling program in 1975, Shanfelter continued his wrestling career at Lock Haven University. Shanfelter graduated and continued to serve for the Bald Eagles, as an Assistant Head Coach in 1981.
Austin knows that his time in wrestling not only prepared him for business but it drove him to always reach for success. He is once again happy to address this conference. The prize will be airfare for two and two tickets for a Carnival Cruise Line trip. The winner and a guest will be able to sail on any seven-day cruise with a balcony stateroom on Carnival Cruise Line departing from any port destination in the U.S. Carnival Cruise Line is the largest single cruise line in the world with a majority of its ports throughout the U.S. within driving distance. The NWCA is fortunate to have so many supporters in business, without their extreme generosity, we would not be able to offer such a great opportunity to our member coaches, said Moyer regarding the Carnival Cruise tickets. He went on to say, Last year was a record-setting year in total attendance, the number of high school coaches in attendance, and included a record number of exhibitors; our expectation is to continue to build on these successes and offer our attendees a first-rate experience as soon as they arrive in beautiful Daytona Beach, FL. education time at the convention including coaching development presentations, technique session, panel discussions and growing wrestling forums.
