Mary Allan I have worked in the insurance industry since 1972 and at Manulife since 1998. My current position is Junior Designer in Creative Services. Attaining my FLMI and ACS have been helpful in the positions I've held during my years in the various insurance companies - from accounting to marketing, from customer service to creative design! Other interests are reading, gardening, cooking, the theatre and spending lots of time with my granddaughter. Janice Beam Janice Beam has been with Manulife Financial for 23 years. She received her FLMI in 1991 and her ACS in 1992. Some of her experiences at Manulife include starting up and managing the call centres for Wealth Management, Manulife Bank and Individual Insurance. In the past five years at Manulife, her home has been in the Individual Insurance Business Unit. She has managed the Policy Service Area, In Force Call Centre and is currently the Director of the New Business Service Centre, Relationship Management Team and the Medical Tele-Interview Team. Janice and her husband have 3 children and she loves spending time with them. She also enjoys volunteer work for a few different non-profit organizations.
Beverly Davies The computer area at Lutheran Life has been my "home away from home" since 1974. My position as Data Control Co-ordinator saw many changes as the result of computer technology advancements and the introduction of new computer systems. In 1994, I attained my FLMI and ACS designations. For completion of my FLMI, Lutheran Life sent me to the 1994 Annual Conference and FLMI Conferment in San Antonio, Texas. They also sent me to the Toronto conference in 2002 where as Secretary for the FLMI board I attended the officer training sessions. In September 2003, I returned to San Antonio for the Annual Conference as Treasurer of our Society. This was the Officers Session where the name was changed from FLMI Societies to LOMA Societies. I have been an active participant on the Society's board since November 2000. To prepare myself for the many roles on the executive, I joined Concordia Toastmasters Club in January 2001. It has a friendly learning environment. I have served on the executive for this local chapter since June 2001. Currently, my position is Information Systems Support Analyst in the Information Services area at Lutheran Life Insurance Society of Canada. Traveling, cycling and walking are some of my favourite pastimes.
Kathryn Flood I started with SunLife/Clarica (then Mutual Life) in December 1991 in the Central Collections department. In 1996, I moved to my current position in the Policy Title department. I attained my ACS designation September 1996 and FLMI designation May 2000. I have varied interests outside of work. I also keep busy with family. I am married and have a daughter and a son. Jodi Hall Jodi has recently returned to Corrigan Succession Management as an Insurance Specialist after an extensive career in the insurance industry. Jodi has 10 years experience in a Head Office environment and 16 years in the field. Jodi earned her FLMI in 1985 and her ACS in 1991. Jodi is married and has 3 sons. Outside of work, Jodi enjoys reading, knitting and serves as a board member of a local church.
Francine Koehler Francine has worked in the Insurance industry since 1976 when she joined Mutual Life, now Sun Life Assurance Company as an accounting clerk. Throughout her 30 years of insurance experience she has worked in many capacities which include, accounting, payroll, RRSPs and mortgages. Francine earned her FLMI in 1985 and her ACS designation sometime in the early 1990's. Francine is married and has 2 grown daughters Amber Lynn and Michelle and one granddaughter, Samantha, who rules the household. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, reading, traveling with her husband on their Harley and working on her needlework.
Rose Kubesheskie, ACS, FLMI I have worked for Manulife Financial for 27 years. I have worked in Medical Underwriting on the Individual side. I have worked in Medical Underwriting in Group benefits. My current role is Short Term Disability adjudicator in the Group Life and Disability department. I obtained my FLMI in 1994 and my ACS designation in 1995. I am married and have a daughter. I enjoy sports, I play 10 Pin bowling and baseball in the summer. I have been running the Manulife 10 Pin bowling league for more than 15 years and am the manager of my Ladies baseball team. I am a volunteer with the Special Athletes for Sports, I also participate in playing baseball with the special athletes. I belong to the Optimist Club of Country Hills. I have been a member for more than 10 years. My current position with the Optimist Club of Country Hills is President. Our motto is friend of the youth and our vision is bringing out the best in kids. In the last two years I had been a volunteer for the Oktoberfest Corporation
Dean Langlois In 1999, then Lutheran Life hired me for a 2 month contract in the Technical Support area. This eventually led to a full time position with the company. I previously worked at Manulife Financial for 2 years being part of the YEAR 2000 Project. I have achieved the following LOMA designations ACS, AIAA & ARA. In June 2005 I completed the last course for my FLMI designation. In recognition of this achievement, FaithLife Financial sent me to the 2005 LOMA Conference. Presently I am working on the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician certification. Ellen Lovell Ellen has worked in the Insurance Industry since 1982 when she joined the Computer Systems department at Mutual Life. She earned her FLMI in 1984 and was in the first group to earn the ACS designation in 1992. In 1998, Ellen moved to Manulife Financial and currently works in Group Savings and Retirement Solutions as a Project Director. Ellen is married and has 2 adult children, Michelle and Grant. Outside of work, Ellen enjoys gardening, golfing, knitting, sewing and reading.
John Clayton John started with the company in 1987, when it was then known as Mutual Life, in the Actuarial Administration department. He also spent time working on Service and Support Teams for Sun Life Financial's savings products. Most recently John has been a member of the Individual Wealth Management (IWM) Resolution Team providing training and support for Sun Life's IWM staff. John is married and has a daughter (Genevieve) born in 1998. Nancy Fisher, BA, ACS, FLMI Nancy began her insurance career with Equitable Life of Canada in January 1986 in the Group New Business Department. Coincidently she was hired by Sylvia Clouthier, another current LOMA Board member. Nancy enjoyed an almost 19 year career with Equitable in various roles within the company, as Group New Business & Renewal Underwriter, Group Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator all product lines & the last 10 years as Group Marketing Manager in the KW Group Office. She attained her FLMI & ACS in 1995. In January 2006, Nancy joined the insurance brokerage companies Underwriters Alliance Inc. & the Reservoir Group with offices located in Hamilton & Toronto as Senior Consultant for their block of Group Clients.
