The HoPE Project Holistic Personal public Eco-mobility Antonio Congiusta HoPE Consortium ITACA s.r.l. WIN-LOG 2013 International Workshop on Innovations for Logistics Campora S. G. (CS), 15 November 2013
Context PSP CIP Call 7 - Object 1.2 a) Piloting ICT-based Interoperable Fare Management (IFM) for sustainable Mobility Overall aim: to demonstrate through a pilot how seamless IFM can be rolled out across regions through cooperation between different transport operators. The ICT Policy Support Programme (or ICT PSP) aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses.

The Vision In order to advance the role of public transportation systems Interoperable Fare Management (IFM) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) need to be combined into an open platform. The platform will be user oriented and user centric, in a way that will foster and promote user awareness about public transports and eco-mobility, other than providing for a significant mix of services including: info-mobility, trip planning, ticket reservation, fare calculation and mobile payments.
Main features Smart Info Mobility: offering unprecedented, reliable, and comprehensive user experience. Provide for a personal travel assistant exploiting static and real-time information coming from the transport network using several optimization engines and strategies; Smart Ticketing: a flexible and advanced framework in which the different operators can join the system by adhering to its technical specifications. Without undergoing long and complex administrative processes and/or strict legal agreements.
Ride2Go! Solution state-of-the-art optimization algorithms for vehicle routing, fleet management, dial a ride, and on demand services. ecompass project results Core solutions multimodal itinerary planning under various optimization criteria (time, ticket price, eco-friendlier means of transport, number of commutes, use of a specific transport mode, etc). MODUM project results energy-efficient and multi-modal transport choices and forecasts based on dynamic variations, such as unexpected perturbations of traffic conditions and service operations.
SafepaySys solution Core solutions mobile payments and e-ticketing, secure financial transactions, frameworks for NFC-enabled services on mobile devices, ticket automatic validation and on demand presentation for on-board controls. PlanetMedia solution robust design and provision of mobile applications for ticketing and payments, with support for an advanced user experience and whole lifecycle management.
Project structure
Execution strategy There is the possibility of targeting/stressing particular features of the system depending on the pilot unique characteristics. In this way there is the opportunity to have slightly different pilot objectives that will yield additional results and validation outcomes.
Last but not least The consortium will have the support of a user (passenger) association: EPIVATIS. EPIVATIS is a Citizens' network for Public Transport and Sustainable Mobility located in Athens (Greece). Is a Non- Profit Organization, NGO Member of the European Passengers' Federation. They have expressed strong interest about the project and its objectives, and would like to be involved in the evaluation of the reuslts.
Thanks for your attention.
