Moderator Bio Liz Stone is the Managing Director of The Dubin Group, a legal search firm based in the Bay Area, hired by firms and companies for placement services. She regularly advises on the legal market and career strategy. Liz is a former litigator and practiced with several Am Law 100 firms. On the side, Liz performs stand up comedy at clubs throughout the country. Liz is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law and the University of Virginia. She is a Board Member of the ABA Legal Career Central. Faculty Bios Heather C. Johnston is a shareholder at Trainor Fairbrook, a boutique real estate firm located in Sacramento, California. Trainor Fairbrook limits its practice to real estate law, construction law, business law, trust and estates and related litigation. Ms. Johnston's practice focuses on commercial real estate matters related to the acquisition, ownership and disposition of real property including purchase and sale transactions, development, financing, leasing, title matters, easements and CC&Rs. She has received an "AV Preeminent " Rating by Martindale Hubbell, has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer/Rising Star (2014 2016), Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine (2015 2016), Best of the Bar by the Sacramento Business Journal (2015 2016), was selected as a Fellow for the Real Property Trust and Estate Section of the American Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Chapter of the Urban Land Institute, Young Leaders Group. Joseph Lubinski, Esq., is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Ballard Spahr LLP's Denver office. Joey is the co leader of the firm's Insurance Company and Institutional Investments Team and a Fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. Mr. Lubinski counsels clients on a variety of complex real estate financing matters. He represents national and regional banks, life insurance companies, and private equity firms in the origination of permanent, construction and mezzanine loans of all sizes and also represents special servicers and other lenders in loan workouts and foreclosures.
