NORTH CENTRAL TASK FORCE KENWOOD TK-2180 / TK-3180 USER Guide Kenwood TK-2180 (VHF 136-174 MHz.) and TK-3180 (UHF 400-470 MHz.) The TK-2180/3180 provides programming capability of up to 512 Channels and 128 Zones. Maintaining full transmit of five watts in both UHF and VHF band spreads. The 12 Character Alphanumeric Display allows for zone and channels to easily be identified. The seven option buttons give us the flexibility of meeting our users needs. Terminology: Channel: Individual alias with a transmit and receive frequency with private line attached. Frequency: The number of cycles or completed alternations per unit time of a wave or oscillation. Private Line: Tone or digital code attached to a transmit or receive frequency to block unwanted signals. Zone: A group of channels under on caption or alias. Scan: Our radios are programmed for ZONE Scan. The radio will check the channels in and across the zones. Scan Add/ Delete: The USER can designate the channel needed to be scanned. Scramble: Turns on and off per channel limiting audio clarity to those within the system. Monitor: Disables the receive private line to monitor all traffic on a channel NOTE: Allot of the features and buttons are programmable. This document references how the radios on the IMU and IMU-T are set-up.
