What is Bet the Flop? Bet the Flop is a great new side bet for poker games that have a 3-card FLOP, like Texas Hold em and Omaha. It generates additional poker table revenue for the casino or poker table operator. It allows extra player participation in the game since 100% of the players can play and bet on 100% of the hands without affecting the main game in any way. Bet the Flop bets are made prior to the initial deal and can only be made by players participating in the main game. The house covers Bet the Flop bets. 3

How it is Played The concept of the game is VERY simple and it works like this: STEP 1: Placing of bets. Before the poker hand commences, players have the option to place a Bet the Flop bet on either RED or BLACK or bets on both RED and BLACK. STEP 2: Play begins. The poker hand begins and after the first betting round has been completed, the dealer flops 3 cards in the normal manner. STEP 3: Winners and losers. Bet the Flop bets placed on RED win if all 3 flop cards are red, and lose if one or more of the flop cards are black. Similarly, Bet the Flop bets placed on BLACK win if all 3 flop cards are black, and lose if one or more of the flop cards are red. All red or black winning Bet the Flop bets are paid by the dealer at odds of 5-to-1. If the winning red or black bet also contains hand rankings listed in the bonus payout section, (e.g., flush), then the winning bet gets paid out on this higher payout scale of 9-to-1 instead of the 5-to-1 red- or black-only payout scale. See payout scale in diagram below. STEP 4: Taking the losers. All losing Bet the Flop bets are collected by the dealer immediately after the 3 flop cards have been flopped, and then the poker hand is played in the normal manner. STEP 5: Paying the winners. Winning Bet the Flop bets are paid by the dealer at the conclusion of the poker hand, after the player who has won the round of play has received the payoff, but before the flop cards have been removed. This ensures that winnings from Bet the Flop bets cannot be used as part of the player s bank roll in that hand. Note: If all but one player folds in the first betting round and consequently there is no flop, then all Bet the Flop bets are void for that hand.
