This is all done in house by our own skilled team of craftsmen and women. This enables us to maintain a very high standard of quality for our products. All our castings are made from our own pattern equipment and are produced in this country. As a company we are small enough to offer the personal service that you require for one-offs, but large enough to deal with major projects from start to finish. This expertise is available as a design and advisory service to our customers. Pattern Making Patterns are produced in our works, for casting in iron, aluminium and bronze as complete items, or for use as components in our range of products. Signs & Plaques Cast metal signs and plaques are laid up by hand using individually cut letters or carvings before going to the foundry for casting in aluminium or bronze. Fabrication & Welding Our fabrication and welding shop produces items fabricated in steel, stainless steel and aluminium. All mild steel products are fully galvanised after fabrication before the finishing processes. Metalwork All metalwork is fettled and polished prior to assembly to ensure that a good surface is achieved prior to the application of the high quality finish. Assembly Components are finally assembled in our own workshops from castings and fabrications produced. Painting Products are finished in our own spray shop to a very high specification to ensure that the long lasting high quality finish that is our trademark is achieved. Art Detailing Our own artist s carry out final hand detailing to artworks, crests, logos and lettering to the highest standards. 1 2

Available as 2 Chatsworth 1600 panels mounted on 3 Decor Posts shown, mounted on galvanised steel posts with or without decorative collars and finials. There are many configurations as all components are interchangeable giving each panel a degree of individuality. Standard size panels are produced from Chatsworth 3000 mounted on Decor Posts Chatsworth 800 mounted on square Posts 800mm up to 2400mm wide in width increments of 200mm with a standard height of 1000mm. Special sizes can be made. Header and Footer boards, by which the panels are identified, are produced in cast aluminium and have raised text and border to which crests or logos can be added. PANELS can have either 1, 2 or 3 top or side hung secure lockable doors, glazed in 6mm PETG polycarbonate sheet or toughened glass as required. All panels come with Sundeala pin up board as standard. DOORS are fitted with brass hinges and attached using counter sunk brass machine screws and can either be fitted with free opening doors or lockable with cam locks for added security. Why not consider our other alternative fixings that are available, bollard, wall or fence mounted, these give you all the same benefits but allow you to utilise other areas in cramped Chatsworth 800 with side hung door high streets or open park spaces. You can choose to have them adorned with or without a header, on the bollard mount you can have the option of our popular triple sided unit. Panels have either 1,2 or 3 lockable doors, glazed in 6mm PETG sheet or toughened glass. These are hung on brass butt hinges, certain sizes can be top hung and fitted with cover stays. Fitted with a Sundeala pin up board and supplied with wall mounting brackets and fixings as standard. POSTS are produced from mild steel that is totally galvanised to B.S EN ISO 1461. The ring details and finials are made from cast aluminium and are fitted to the posts before spraying. The posts and panels are etched primed followed by a high build primer coat and a good quality polyurethane gloss finish is applied. The finials can be highlighted in a contrasting colour. NOTICE BOARDS are made from 3mm thick aluminium with welded joints and seams. Inside the notice board we use 10mm thick Sundeala pin board as standard, it is held in place using adhesive and stainless steel bolts and tee nuts, as well as vents in the sides and bottom we place inside sachets of silica gel for moisture control as standard. If required after years of service we also offer a refurbishment service for all of our manufactured posts and boards, please contact us for details POSTS DOORS are hung on brass hinges and attached with counter sunk brass machine screws. The doors are fitted with 6mm PETG polycarbonate that is impact resistant and does not degrade or stress crack in contact with oils, grease, alcohols or commercial cleaning products. INTERNAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE If your requirements are more specific you can opt for pin less mounting of notices with the installation of either a magnetic backing board or a hook and loop system, or have no internal fixings at all allowing for the mounting of bespoke artwork (for options available please see page 12) SPECIFICATIONS Top hung doors supplied with coverstays. All crests and logos start as a drawing or photograph from the customer and then reproduced into a hand carved wax pattern, cast and then painted in full colour. To work out the width size of panel required and to maximise the approximate viewable area please use the following table, based on one A4 sheet size of 297mm x 210mm paper. All measurements are based on a panel height of 1000mm. With the internal pin board recessed back from the door glazing by 40mm it allows slightly more viewable area than just the size of the door alone. We take your information and images to create striking interpretation panels that not only look pleasing to the eye but also inform and educate. MLS can offer you a complete design service from conception to fruition and it is all done with your approval and input every step of the way. CHOOSING THE RIGHT ARTWORK Interpretation and orientation panels with PRINTED artwork can be produced to any size you require and mounted into a any panel or onto any lectern of your choice. We can produce flat plan, town, city or country park maps from computer generated, hand drawn or 3D graphic onto a variety of media, GRP (glass reinforced plastic), applied polycarbonate or printed onto vinyl using UV fast inks and mounted onto sign grade aluminium. Also why not consider artwork using an ACID ETCH process, unlike pantograph engraving or shallow chemical etch into steel or brass this deep etch system allows deeper etch depths on the zinc substrate used, This process together with detailed text and illustrations is the perfect solution for long lasting - quality historical interpretation panels. The benefits of using ACID ETCH allow the inclusion of highly detailed photographs and artwork giving you a 2D tactile finish that can also include Braille. 11 12

Carn Brea INTERPRETATION Yarmouth PANELS DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE Our cast aluminium Thetford and Yarmouth style interpretation panel consist of a bollard and decorative plate and can take artwork approx A1 size 800mm x 550mm high as well as 600mm x 420mm (A2 size). The Millennium style board is an aluminium frame and backing panel with galvanised steel legs, to suit your requirements and fitted with 6mm PETG sheet or toughened glass. The Carn Brea Interpretation panel is a Millennium with a cast header board, ideal for any printed artwork and can be mounted on box section posts or bollards. Artwork can be supplied in different mediums such as: Acid Etched Zinc that gives a good raised tactile definition, suitable for a large amount of detailed text and illustrations (as shown on the Thetford and Yarmouth Style cast aluminium panel). Digitally printed artwork which is good for coloured text and pictures. to be fitted behind a PETG front for added protection. (as shown in a millennium & Carn Brea style of lecterns). Millennium Finger arms can be mounted on plain or decorative posts or to any of our range of posts that we currently use for our information panels, more details can be seen on our specifications page. You can choose from a range of sizes for finger arms depending on how much and what kind of information you need to display, sizing ranges from 100mm depth taking 1 line of text, 150mm for two lines of text or a 200mm wide arm for 3 lines of text. Signs are crafted in great detail and finished to a high specification to provide a low maintenance focal point for a Town or Village for many years. We all hope for pleasant summer months and kind winters, and seeing vibrant plants and flowers is a heart-warming sight. What better way to show them than in a bespoke planter with or without your areas logo or name. They can be single, double or triple tiered. PLANTERS CROPWELL a rectangular planter to compliment our Cropwell panel and seat, Small Dornoch Kingussie made from oval mild steel tubing which is fully hot dipped and galvanised. Because of its versatility it can be made to any size, they also come with a removable liner. Cropwell Alness ALNESS, BONAR and SHIPLEY range are manufactured using sheet aluminium and come without a liner, these planters can be produced to take text and or personalised logo or Town Crest on the sides. DORNOCH range are laser cut planters made from galvanised laser cut steel and come complete with a removable internal liner. Shipley Straight Dornoch KINGUSSIE is a triple tier planter made from 3mm thick folded aluminium and has a steel column through the centre to support and hold it altogether.
