Safety Instructions - Rack Mount A. Elevated Operating Ambient - If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer. B. Reduced Air Flow- Installation of the equipment in a rack should be such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised. C. Mechanical Loading - Mounting of the equipment in the rack should be such that a hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading. D. Circuit Overloading - Consideration should be given to the connection of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the circuit might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used when addressing this concern. E. Reliable Earthing - Reliable earthing of rack-mounting equipment should be maintained. Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than direct connections to the branch circuit (e.g. use of power strips). Page 2

DISASSEMBLY OF SNE ENCLOSURE 1. Remove bonding wires from top panels. 2. Remove top panel and grommet top panel using a Phillips head screwdriver. 3. Remove bonding wire from top side cover on the side you wish to install the chase. Remove the top side cover using a 5/16 socket wrench. 4. Remove bonding cables and side panels from the side you wish to install the chase. NOTE: Set aside all bonding wires, panels, cover, square nuts, and screws for reinstallation. INSTALLATION NOTE: While the cable chase appears upright for the steps on this page, you may prefer carefully placing the chase in a horizontal position on the floor while completing them. 1. Install one of the top cable brackets (A) to the enclosure using a 5/16 socket wrench and replace bonding wires and square nuts. 2. Reinstall top panel and grommet top panel to the enclosure using a Phillips head screwdriver and replace bonding wires. 3. Install the other top cable bracket (A) and the top side cover to the cable chase with (4) hex head screws (B) and a 5/16 socket wrench, as shown. 4. Install brush and grommet top (C) using (4) square nuts (D) and (4) #10 flat head Phillips screws (E) as shown. 5. If casters or leveling feet are installed on your enclosure, install (2) leveling feet (F) to outside holes as shown and adjust using a flat head screwdriver. INSTALLATION (CONTINUED) 6. Attach Lever Lock brackets (if used) before securing the chase to your enclosure. Face the flanges outside. 7. Lever Lock brackets are typically installed on the sides joined together on the enclosure and the chase. For more information, refer to the SNE Series Lever Lock Bracket instruction sheet. Lever Lock Brackets Locations 1 and 2, top left and right sides (depending on which side you install the chase). For cable chase installation on the right (facing) of the enclosure, secure the rear of the chase to your enclosure by passing (3) bonding screws (G) passthrough holes toward the front of the enclosure and chase to (3) bonding nuts (H) using a 5/16 socket wrench. 8b. For left side installation, be sure to use passthrough holes toward the front of the chase and enclosre for your bonding screws (G) and nuts (H). For right side installation, secure the front of the cable chase to your enclosure by passing (3) hex cap screws (J) through passthrough holes toward the front of the enclosure into the rivnut holes toward the front of the chase with the 1/4 hex t-handle wrench provided. 9b. For left side installation, pass (3) hex cap screws (J) through passthrough holes toward the front of the chase into the rivnut holes toward the front of the enclosure instead. 10. Reinstall side panels to the outside of the cable chase. GROUNDING AND BONDING THE CHASE Protective Earth Terminals (PET) are located on the bottom frame of the enclosure. These terminals are marked with the symbol. Enclosure accessory parts contain or are provided with bonding points for connection to the frame / PET. Protective earth and bonding connections shall be in accordance with Article 250 of the National Electric Code. When removing any bonded accessory for servicing the enclosure, make sure to disconnect the bonding terminal from the accessory. NOTE: The bonding terminal MUST be reconnected to the accessory when the part is replaced after servicing. 1. Use existing bonding wires from the enclosure to connect the following side panel bonding point locations on your cable chase as shown. 2. Attach provided bonding wire (K) to the upper panel bonding point on the diagram. WARRANTY Middle Atlantic Products (the "Company") warrants the product to be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use and conditions for the lifetime of the product. The Company's entire liability to the purchaser, and the purchaser's (or any other party's) sole and exclusive remedy, under this warranty shall be limited, at the Company's option, to either (a) return of and refund of the price paid for, or (b) repair or replacement at the Company's factory of the products purchased, or any part or parts thereof, which the Company has determined to be defective after inspection thereof at the Company's factory. This warranty does not cover damage due to acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse or negligence by parties other than the Company, or any modification or alteration of the products. In addition, this warranty does not cover damage due to improper handling, assembly, installation or maintenance. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE PRODUCTS PURCHASED, EVEN IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
