FRESH AIR The Alpha Group is leading the textile world with an ambitious program to measure and monitor its carbon footprint at each stage of production. Working with the Thailand Greenhouse Organization, Alpha was able to determine that its combined production processes are up to 38% lower when compared to the globally recognized Life Cycle Inventory Database. Efficiencies in certain processes such as dyeing showed as much as 50% less carbon footprint when compared to industry standards. Studies completed and compared in 2011 and 2013 respectively showed improvements in Alpha s already impressive low carbon footprint performance results. Alpha s excellence in the area of carbon reduction and overall low carbon usage resulted in being awarded special recognition by the Thailand Energy Minister for its efforts. 10
