DELAWARE VALLEY Chapter DVHIMSS Board of Directors presents Forty and Fabulous! A gala event celebrating 40 years serving the Delaware Valley health information technology community 40th Thursday October 16, 2014 from 6-10pm Springfield Country Club

Dear Chapter Members and Guests, Welcome On behalf of the board of directors of the Delaware Valley chapter of HIMSS, welcome to our 40 th anniversary gala event, Forty and Fabulous! We certainly are feeling fabulous these days as we reflect back on the last forty years of growth and DVHIMSS s evolution from an in-house engineering forum at the Pennsylvania Hospital with 30 members to today s chapter serving almost 2000 health IT professionals in the tri-state area. The growth in medicine and information technology advancements has been nothing short of astounding! This is a most exciting time as we experience a significant transition in healthcare delivery due to the rising adoption of electronic health records on a regional and national level. As healthcare information technology professionals we should be proud of our contributions to the advancement of healthcare delivery as a result of the innovations we developed, implemented or sold into our community. Representing eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, we are very proud to have among us some of the most progressive health systems in the country leading the way. Tonight is a celebration of that work and the work Delaware Valley HIMSS has been consistently doing over the past forty years to facilitate the sharing of ideas, successes and lessons learned as we all seek solutions to the challenges facing our industry. Tonight is also a celebration of the next 40 years and the future innovations in healthcare information technology that will certainly continue to improve healthcare and the health of our community in ways we can only imagine. Tonight we are doubly proud and honored to have with us Dr. John Halamka, one of the country s foremost physicians and thought leaders on the role information technology plays in advancing Triple Aim objectives of lower costs, improving the patient experience and improving the overall quality of care. So thank you for being part of Delaware Valley HIMSS, thank you to our sponsors for helping to make this possible, thank you for coming and we hope you enjoy this special evening. Salut! Peg Meadow, President

DVHIMSS Mission The Delaware Valley Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society is an affiliated chapter of HIMSS a non-profit society dedicated to lead healthcare transformation through the effective use of health information technology. We sponsor education programs and networking events to provide professional development opportunities and disseminate relevant information to HIMSS members in southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, local and regional governmental representatives, and the Delaware Valley healthcare industry. As health information technology (HIT) touches nearly every aspect of the provision of healthcare, we seek to connect to and collaborate with those in our region committed to the goal of improving patient care through the effective use of HIT.
