Update the Media in Apogee Prepress At Apogee Prepress, go to System Overview and click on the AvalonN TP. Open the configuration window. Change the number of printing machines to reflect the one just added and click. Right click on the AvalonN and choose Restart to reboot the AvalonN device. In the Message window, verify the correct plate type (positive or negative) is checked, then click Add to add the media size. Open the Media resource and verify the plate type matches the others and is loaded into the new Printing Machine. 3 of 6
Create the Output Size for the new media Click on the Output Size TP for AvalonN. Click on the + icon to add a new size. Type in the plate size, with width as the larger dimension (except for small narrow plates) and an orientation of 0. Make the plate size smaller than the media by.3 mm. This allows for rounding. Do not select a Punch Calibration yet. Click. Create the Punch Calibration for the new media Create a new Punch Calibration from within the Output Sizes window. Click on the + and name it based on the plate name. Edit the information. Enter half the height of the output size in the field: Distance from Image Center to Plate Leading Edge (X axis). Click. Select the Output Size created earlier and open it. Choose the Punch Calibration created and make sure it shows up inside the OutputSize dialog. 4 of 6
Create Parameter Sets for AvalonN Image and Output In System Overview, click on the AvalonN TP. Open the Parameter Set resource. In the Image Parameter Set, Select the new Output Size and select a plate border. Verify Orientation is from Output Size and Position is for Press. Save the new Parameter Set. In the Output Parameter Set, select the tray (Media) that corresponds to the media loaded on AvalonN. Choose the correct resolution and any other engine settings required. Add the plate bend to the Press Configuration Add the plate bend information to the Generic Press TP. Select Generic Press then click on Parameter Sets. 5 of 6
Create a new Parameter Set for the new Plate size. Enter the Setback value (distance plate to sheet edge) in the Type tab and save it. Test the new size Build a workflow using the new AvalonN Parameter Sets and the correct Generic Press Parameter. Image a plate and measure it to verify positioning.
