How to Guide: Students amcitygrad.com
About AM CityGrad We appreciate that searching for student internships and graduate jobs can be a daunting task. With such a competitive graduate market, it can be extremely tough to make an impression and stand out. Typically most recruitment agencies work on behalf of employers, but we work differently. Our primary focus is on developing you and kick-starting your career. Here at AM CityGrad, we have taken a unique approach to graduate recruitment. Gone are our jobs boards, along with the endless recycling of job applications. In its place is your CityGrad profile from which employers can contact you directly with their job opportunities. We believe in finding you opportunities that match the skills you offer and the ambitions you have. In order to do this we provide you with a platform to boost your employability by injecting some personality into an otherwise anonymous process. This proven method of matching the dynamics of an organisation and an individual means that employers look at far more than just your qualifications and experiences. Ultimately, we believe we can increase your chance of finding graduate work. Not only that but we will help you find graduate work that fits your best skill set, personality and ambitions. We believe that you deserve your best. Your Step by Step Guide to AM CityGrad 1. To start presenting yourself to opportunities, you first need to sign up! Click the sign up button to begin. 2. We have taken an alternative approach to graduate recruitment. Rather than advertising graduate jobs, we display student and graduate profiles. Employers are free to filter through all CityGrad profiles and head hunt the perfect candidate. Your CityGrad profile is a combination of written content, video CVs and achievement galleries. You have full flexibility to edit this profile in order to showcase your strengths. 3. For access to your account, click the link in the confirmation email. That way, you can begin your online portfolio. On completion, your profile will instantly be available for employers to shortlist. Employers are free to send you their job opportunities if your profile stands out to them. At this point you have the option to accept or decline the invitation. Each opportunity that presents itself has its own unique advantages and every role should be carefully considered when deciding on whether to accept an invitation. Only once you have accepted will we exchange contact details with the respective employer and, from this point onwards, all contact will be directly with them. 2 3
