This specification does not apply to piping located in the mine shaft compartment Design Condition F Operating Conditions 225 ambient temperature Design, Fabrication, Installation, Approval Requirements ASME B31.1 CSA B51 SPEC SPEC SPEC System Approvals Power Piping Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code Piping Classification and Identification Identify and paint the piping system according to the requirements indicated on the project drawings or the scope of work. Do Not Paint stainless steel components. Piping General Requirements Leak Testing Requirements Water piping systems 250 psig or less are not subject to approval by regulatory agencies. 2.0 MATERIALS ½ to 1 ½ Schedule 80 per ASME B3.10, carbon steel ASTM A53 Gr.B, ERW or seamless, grooved or threaded ends. Pipe 2 to 10 Schedule 40 per ASME B3.10, carbon steel ASTM A53 Gr. B, ERW or seamless, grooved or beveled ends All pipe grooving shall be rolled grooved and in accordance with coupling manufacturer's procedures and specifications. Fittings ½ to 1 ½ Class 300 malleable iron fittings, WOG 1000 minimum non-shock rating, ASTM A197, threaded to ASME B1.3

Confirm dimensions before ordering. Note: 1. Vendor supplied segmentally welded fittings to be fabricated from Sch 40 pipe with grooved ends. 2. Elbows - Long Radius R= 1 ½ x dia. unless otherwise noted. 3. Contractor supplied welded spool pieces to be fabricated from Sch 40 pipe and fittings. Attach to run pipe by full penetration welds. 6 201/11/2 /9 3.0 EXAMINATION AND INSPECTION Examination and inspection must meet the requirements of ASME B31.1 and specific instructions in the scope of work. Minimum 100% visual examination for pressure welds or welds to pressure retaining components and a complete inspection. 4.0 APPENDICES Appendix A: Branch Connections
7 201/11/2 7/9 5.0 REVISION AND TRANSITION NOTES Revision notes describe: what was changed, and if applicable, why it was changed, and the plan to implement the change, including whether changes are retroactive. Note: The revision notes are a summary of the changes and may not necessarily be a complete list. A risk code is entered for each revision and if applicable, the revision notes will describe how risk was addressed for the revision.
