This charming container makes a wonderful gift for loved ones and is a great craft sale item. You can make several in a day, if you need a whole bunch of them! All layout vectors were created using only the Vectric Vcarve Pro software. Main features used in its creation were the Snap Drawing, Node editing tools, and the Circular Copy Array tool. Main items you will need: 1) The Project Files (included): Notions_Box_Components.crv Notions_Box_Lid_Base.crv 2) Boards with the following dimensions: Box Components: 0.75 " x 7 " x 21 " Lid Base: 0.25 " x 5.5 " x 6 " 3) 1" diameter round wooden ball knob (for lid handle), a " dia. dowel 4) Wood glue, drill, sandpaper, wood stain and/or paint and clear finish 5) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details. A spindle sander and small belt sander is also recommended to speed up preparation for finishing. STEP 1 - Open and Review the Project Files Start your Vcarve or Aspire software and open the project file(s). (fig.

The toolpaths are currently set with feeds, speeds and pass depths that were used in creating the original sample. Please don t use them directly until you review them for your own setup. You can edit the tools and change the settings to your own preferences and requirements. It is very important to recalculate all toolpaths after making any edits/changes. Once you have recalculated for your own machine and bits, reset the preview, then preview all toolpaths again to visually verify the project outcome on-screen. fig. 2b Notions_Box_Lid_Base.crv STEP 3 - Separate Part(s) from Material and Sand Separate the parts from the boards. Sand off the tabs and undesirable toolmarks. Wait to final sand the outside perimeter until after the box sections are gluedup. (fig. 3a, 3b) Page 2 fig. 3a fig. 3b (cont.)

STEP 4 - Glue Up Glue the ring and box bottom together.

(fig.4a, 4b) Glue the Knob onto the lid using a short length of dowel inserted through the lid assembly. Sand off any excess dowel after the glue is dry. (fig. 4e) Apply wood glue and align ring to box bottom Glue the knob to the lid with a short dowel inserted into the predrilled holes in the lid fig. 4a fig. 4e Final sand the box assembly to blend seams.
