2 Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of your brand new Timba Floor 15mm European Solid Oak Flooring. Prior to installation please examine all boards for faults that are not solid wood compatible (such as physical damages etc.) and use only boards that are in proper condition. The term fault however, does not refer to any natural features or the natural characteristics of solid wood. During installation it is important to make sure that floorboards from different packages (at least 3-4) and different lengths are being mixed in order to achieve a well-balanced and harmonious appearance. Installation for floating floor installation with Click Profile Fig.1 If you don t have to narrow the width of your first row of planks, begin by sawing off the longitudinal tongues of the entire first row of planks. Start laying the first row in the left hand corner of the room with the sawn edge facing the wall. Use spacer wedges to ensure the necessary distance / expansion gaps to the wall; 3mm per meter of installation width (minimum 15mm); for the longitudinal direction 15mm is required and appropriate for all lengths. If the wall is not straight see Fig.13. Lay out the first row in a straight line and let the short ends interlock, see Fig.7. Fig.2 & 3 Begin the second row on the left by clicking the longitudinal tongue of the first board into the groove of the first row. To do so, insert the tongue into the groove at a angle of 25 and lower the board. As it is lowered the board snaps into place tightly giving you a press fit. Fig.4 The next board - and all others that follow - is inserted lengthwise as described above, the header joint must be flush with that of the previous board and inserted before lowering (for Drop Loc function to activate). Therefore the floorboards must join flush together before proceeding with the next board.

3 Fig.5,6,7 The longitudinal joint is then locked from the left to right along the entire board by simple pressing the two boards together and pushing downwards. (Fig.3) Before locking the short end joint, always make sure that the longitudinal joint is locked completely along the entire length of the board. The short end joint is locked by dropping the two boards together (Please ensure that the two short ends are lying closely together as locking is not possible otherwise, see Fig.4) Continue to install all other boards in this manner. Fig.8,9 If on either completing a row or during the installation process you experience any problems it is best advised to stop and take out this section of flooring and start the process again from where the difficulty first occurred. To disassemble, lift of the entire row of boards and pull them out of the previous row diagonally. Then you can slide the short end joints apart. To do so, it is best to use a piece of residue board between the rows of boards and knock the boards apart with hammer and hammering block. After just a few hits with hammering block, the connection can be pulled further apart by hand. In this way, the locking mechanism remains intact and the boards can be reused. Fig.10 Measure the end price with a try square (lay down the board with the groove side facing the previous row) and cut to length. Don t forget the expansion space to the wall. If you are using a jigsaw, have the top surfaces of the board face downwards, if you are using a table saw, let it face upwards.

4 Fig.11 Use a piece of residue board to help fit the last row. Remember to keep an expansion space of 3mm for every meter of installation width to the wall. Fig.12 The floor is ready for use as soon as the installation is complete. Remove the spacer wedges and attach the skirting boards. Fig.13 If the wall is not straight, align the first row in a straight line and follow the course of the wall. Saw the boards off accordingly and backfill the space between the row of boards and the wall.

5 Fig.15 A,B,C How to fit your flow around heating pipes: As with all other constructional elements, heating pipes require an expansion space of 3mm per meter of installation width. (lengthwise 15mm regardless of length). Use two residual pieces of flooring and mark the drilling spot as shown in the illustration. The cover must not be fixed on the wood flooring and should be 5mm larger fall around than the cut-out area in the floor. If desired, you can sooth or bevel the edges and treat the cutting edge with Treatment Oil. Fig.16 Laying in inaccessible places: If the boards cannot be inserted diagonally and clicked together, it is recommended that you remove the catch mechanism on the lower side of the tounge and glue the boards together. Apply the glue to the lower surface of the groove and slide the boards into one another lying flat (conventional tongue and groove principle) on the floor. For transitions and finished (e.g in front of doors etc.), we recommend using a Solid Wood Profile available from your Timba Floor Stockist.

6 Warranty UK 1. Timba is responsible for manufacturing defects. 2. The warranty lasts for 10 years starting from the date of purchase. The original invoice is proof of date of purchase. 3. Timba flooring must be installed correctly according to the above mentioned instructions. The warranty covers normal use. The warranty does not cover the use in damp and wet spaces, such as conservatories, bathrooms and kitchens. 4. Floor boards showing visible defects should not be installed. It is the responsibility of the owner/fitter to deselect these boards at time of installation. These boards are to be allowed for in the 5% waste tolerance. Boards with visible defects that are installed as such are excluded from this warranty. Colour and grade deselection is not allowed for as this is personal choice and not a defect in manufacture. 5. Finished flooring, i.e. lacquered, stained, oiled, brushed, or other finished flooring is subject to normal wear and is not covered by this warranty, i.e. if you don t maintain the floor correctly, the warranty is null and void. 6. Excluded under this warranty are: scratches, heavy impacts, humidity, and damage caused by incorrect use or lack of correct maintenance. 7. If you have a defect which falls under the conditions mentioned in this warranty, you should report this to your dealer in writing within 14 days after detecting the defect. In your letter you should include a copy of the invoice. 8. The warranty provided only relates to the floor boards supplied, consequently it does not include labour costs, the costs of additional material and any other consequential loss. 9. In case of a dispute arising from the Timba warranty, either party may call upon an independent expert to render binding advice. In the event that this clause is applicable, the cost of same shall be agreed on in writing by all parties involved in advance. 10. The 10 year warranty period will continue from original date of purchase and will not be affected by subsequent resolution of any complaint. 11. Where the Timba warranty applies, Timba or its distributors will replace the faulty floor boards. In case the product in question is no longer available, Timba will ensure replacement by an alternative product of the same quality. 12. This warranty shall apply only to the original owner/ purchaser of this wood floor. Warranty will not be applicable in case of: 1. The floor not having been fitted in accordance with the instructions by a properly qualified installer. 2. The faults were noticeable prior to the floor being fitted. 3. Defects and/or faults having arisen due to dampness and/or water damage or any other causes as a result of force majeure. 4. Defects and/or faults having been caused by improper use or negligence and failure to use the product for its intended purpose, as well as having been caused by having disregarded the instructions with respect to installation, use and maintenance. 5. Visual faults having arisen as a result of any deformation of the floor boards due to changed climate conditions, any variations in colour due to the influence of sunlight and the effects of regular aging and/or wear and tear of the finishing coat. Manufacturing Tolerance WOODEN HARDWOOD FLOORS ARE A NATURAL PRODUCT AND AS SUCH ARE SUBJECT TO MANY VARIANCES IN COLOUR AND CHARACTER IN EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE OF FLOORING, WE ALWAYS THEREFORE RECOMMEND YOU WORK FROM 3-4 PACKS OF FLOORING AT A TIME IN ORDER TO GET THE BEST NATURAL COLOUR MIX. AS SUCH A TOLERANCE OF 5% SHOULD BE ALLOWED FOR THE DESELECTION OF ANY MATERIAL DEEMED UNSUITABLE FOR INSTALLATION. THIS PRODUCT IS PRODUCED WITH A MANUFACTURING TOLERANCE OF + OR 1.5% ON THE DIMENSION OF THE BOARD AND IN LINE WITH SPECIFIED TIMBER MANUFACTURING GUIDELINES, AS SUCH ANY ITEMS OUT OF TOLERANCE SHOULD BE DISMISSED AS PART OF THE 5% MANUFACTURING TOLERANCE.
