Mounting Instructions for Closed Stand 10 & 12 Tablesaws Pre-Assembly Notes: Make sure that the tablesaw is in a location that s level and offers enough space to do this job. This sliding table will work on most 10 & 12 closed stand tablesaws. Depending on the model and brand tablesaw you have, you may run into some additional steps that must be completed. Remove the outside motor cover and any trays from inside the tablesaw. These can be re-installed after the sliding table has been mounted. The inside tray, on the right tilt saw will need to be notched to make room for the bolt and nut that holds the bracket in place. Cabinet Braces 1. Place the brace (A, Fig. 1) against the bottom of the stand. The holes in the brace (B, Fig. 1) should be centered between the sides of the closed stand. 2. While the brace is against the stand use a transfer punch to mark the two holes for drilling. 3. Move the brace out of the way and pre-drill with a 1/8 drill bit. Drill the final hole with a 1/2 drill bit, (figure 2). 4. Repeat for brace on the opposite side. 5. Attach the two stand braces with four bolts, eight flat washers, four lock washers and four hex nuts (A, Fig. 3). 6. Thread two hex nuts onto two hex head bolts and thread into the opposite end of the stand braces. Adjust the two bolts until they touch the floor, and tighten the nuts. 5

Swing Arm Bracket Pre-Assembly Notes: The bracket mounts to the front left corner of the closed stand tablesaw. 1. Remove the pivot rod that holds the two swing arm pieces together. 2. Place just the bracket (A, Fig. 4) against the tablesaw resting on the flange (B, Fig. 4). 3. While the bracket is against the stand use a transfer punch to mark the four holes, (figure 5). 4. Move the bracket out of the way and predrill with 1/8 drill bit. Use 1/2 bit for the final holes (A, Fig. 6). 5. Make sure adjusting bolts (A, Fig.5), on the bracket are backed off so they do not touch closed stand. You may need to adjust these bolts later. 6. Mount bracket with four bolts, and four flat washers on the outside of the cabinet. Use four large black washers, four lock washers and four hex nuts on the inside. Note: two black washers (with ears) are used where the seam of the cabinet is in the way. 6

Guide Tube Pre-Assembly Notes: The left extension wing will need to be removed. You will need these bolts to mount the guide tube. The rail system that your fence rides on will need to be positioned to a 1/4" of the inside edge of the tablesaw tabletop, (figure 7). This can be accomplished by redrilling the mounting holes in the front and rear guide rails so the rail system can be repositioned; or by cutting the rails. 1. Mount the guide tube (A, Fig. 8) to the table with two hex cap screws, two lock washers and two flat washers (B, Fig. 8). Hand tighten only. Note: there are three holes in the guide tube. Mount the guide tube end, with the single hole, towards the front of the saw. The second hole should line up for either a 10, or 12 tablesaw. 2. The guide tube needs to be approximately 1-5/16 lower than the table top. 3. Level the guide tube to the table top using a dial indicator, (figure 9). A measurement from the front corner and then from the back corner must be made. The two measurements should be within Note: you can use a combination square if you do not have access to a dial indicator. Measure from the table 1-5/16 down to the guide tube, (figure 9a). A measurement from the front corner and then from the back corner must be made. 4. When you have leveled the guide tube tighten the two hex cap screws that hold the guide tube in place. Check to make sure the tube is still level. 7

Swing Arm 1. Attach the swing arm to the bracket with the pivot rod (A, Fig. 10). The end with the c-clip goes on top. Assembly Hint: Leveling the tube on the swing arm to the table saw tabletop may save time. Align the swing arm so that it comes off the bracket in a straight line (figure 10). Place a small level on the tabletop in line with the swing arm tube. Make a note of the bubble location in the level. Place the level on the swing arm tube oriented in the same direction as done on the tabletop. If the level is off refer to Swing Arm Parallel to Tabletop. Sliding Table 1. Roll the sliding table onto the guide tube, (figure 11). Support the sliding table with a stand or with the help of another person. 2. Place the sliding table support bracket end (A, Fig. 12) into the tube (B, Fig. 12) on the swing arm. 3. Attach the sliding table support bracket (C, Fig. 12) to the sliding table with four hex cap bolts, four lock washers and four flat washers (D, Fig. 12). Extension Wing 1. Attach the sliding table extension wing with three hex cap screws, three lock washers and three flat washers. Hand tighten only. 2. Using a straight edge or the sliding table fence make sure the extension wing is level with the sliding table. 3. Tighten hex cap screws. 8

4. Attach the support leg to the far end of guide tube using a 4mm hex wrench, (figure 13). Raising and Leveling the Sliding Table Pre-Assembly Notes: The sliding table alignment and adjustment needs may vary from user to user, depending on the desired results. In this manual we have set the sliding table for precise cuts. 1. The sliding table should be approximately higher than the tablesaw table. 2. Align the sliding table with the tablesaw tabletop, (figure 14). 3. Place a straight edge or the sliding table fence in (Position 1, Fig. 14). 4. Take a measurement between the tablesaw tabletop and the straight edge (A, Fig. 15, or Point A, Fig. 14). The gap should be approximately a feeler gauge. 5. Without moving the sliding table place the straight edge in (Position 2, Fig. 14). The gap at (Point B, Fig. 14) should be approximately If the table is not level from side to side refer to the next section, Adjusting the Sliding Table. 9

Adjusting the Sliding Table (Figure 16) 1. The Eccentric Adjustment can adjust the play by raising, or lowering the table. 2. To adjust the Roller. Loosen the Locking Nuts approximately 1/4 turn. 3. Turn the Eccentric Adjustment for Roller slowly with a small adjustable wrench. Raise or lower to desired position. 4. Tighten the Locking Nut. 5. The distance between the Guide Tube and Bearing should be approximately a feeler gauge. If the Bearing is too tight against the Guide Tube the table will bind. If the Bearing is too loose the sliding table will have excessive play. 6. Place a straight edge (A, Fig. 17) or the sliding table fence down the center of the sliding table and tablesaw tabletop. 7. The gap between the straight edge and tabletop should be consistently, a feeler gauge. 10

8. If the gap is greater towards the far right end of the table top you will need to raise the end bracket. Loosen the hex nut and turn the hex cap screw, (figure 18). When the proper adjustment has been made tighten the hex nut. 9. If the gap is greater where the two tabletops come together you will need to lower the end bracket. Loosen the hex nut and unscrew the hex cap bolt, (figure 18). When the proper adjustment has been made tighten the hex nut. Swing Arm Parallel to Tabletop 1. Place a straight edge or the sliding table fence in (Position 1, Fig. 19). 2. Take a measurement between the tablesaw tabletop and the straight edge. The gap should be approximately a feeler gauge. 3. Leave the straight edge in the same position. 4. Slide the table forward so the straight edge is above the opposite end of the tablesaw tabletop. 5. Take a measurement between the tablesaw tabletop and the straight edge. The gap should be approximately a feeler gauge. The difference between the two measurements should be within If adjustment is necessary: this means that the swing arm is not swinging parallel to the tabletop. 1. The four hex cap bolts (A, Fig. 20) that secure the bracket onto the stand can be loosened so the four adjusting bolts (B, Fig. 20) can be used to get the proper angle. This is the best place to start. 2. Also the eccentric rollers can be adjusted by loosening the hex nut a 1/4 turn, (C, Fig. 20). Turn the eccentric adjustment with a small adjustable wrench. Raise or lower for proper angle. 3. Also the hex socket head cap screws (D, Fig. 20) can also be loosened to raise or lower to proper angle. 11

Attaching the Fence 1. Attach the fence bracket (A, Fig. 21) to the sliding table with two hex nuts and two washers, (B, Fig. 21). 2. The fence bracket extends by loosening the lock knobs on the underside of the sliding table. 3. Attach the handle (C, Fig. 21) from the underside of the fence bracket. 4. Thread the handle into the clamping block (D, Fig. 21) and insert into the slotted section of the fence. The handle is spring loaded so you can pull down on the handle. This acts in a ratcheting fashion. 5. Attach a 90 bracket (A, Fig. 22) to the front side of the sliding table with two hex cap screws, two lock washers and two flat washers (B, Fig. 22). 6. Attach the handle (C, Fig. 22) from the underside of the 90 bracket. 7. Thread the handle into the clamping block and insert into the slotted section of the fence. 8. Slide the stop assembly (D, Fig. 22) into the top slotted section of the fence. 9. Adjust the 90 bracket (A, Fig. 22) and the fence bracket (A, Fig. 21) up, or down so that the fence travels smoothly over the sliding table, and tablesaw tabletop. Fence Setup in Forward Position 1. With a combination square against the saw blade and fence adjust the 90 stop (B, Fig. 23) so that the fence, when in the forward position, is square with the saw blade. 12

2. Place the end of a ruler against the saw blade, and along the fence (A, Fig. 24). The end of the fence should be about 1-1/4 from the saw blade. This will allow the fence to clear the guard. Note: whenever the fence is repositioned this measurement will need to be repeated. 3. Make a test cut on a piece of stock. Make sure that the edge of the stock against the fence is straight. Check to see if the cut is 90 to the side of the stock against the fence. If not adjust the 90 stop. Check the scale on the fence by setting up the stop assembly, and cutting a piece of stock to a predetermined length. Measure the stock and adjust the fence. Fence Setup in Rear Position 1. Attach a 90 bracket to the back side of the sliding table with two hex cap screws, two lock washers and two flat washers. 2. Remove the fence locking handles and clamping blocks so you can reposition the fence to the rear of the sliding table. 3. Adjust the 90 stop so that the fence, when in the back position, is square with the saw blade. 4. Place the end of a ruler against the saw blade, and along the fence (A, Fig. 24). The end of the fence should be about 1-1/4 from the saw blade. This will allow the fence to clear the guard. 5. 6. Setting the fence in the rear position will allow you to get the 48"cut. 13

Fence Setup for Angle Cuts 1. The fence must be square with the blade prior to attaching the angle scale. 2. Move the fence against the 90 stop in the forward position, (Fig. 25). 3. Place the scale (A, Fig. 25) with the 0 position even with the edge of the fence. 4. Loosen lock handle on the fence bracket and set to 45. Make a test cut on a piece of stock. Make sure that the edge of the stock against the fence is straight. Check to see if the cut is 45 to the side of the stock that was against the fence. 5. The scale is a reference only. A test cut is always the best way to verify miters and cuts. Table Lock The table lock can be tightened and loosened by turning knob, (A, Fig. 26). On/Off Switch 1. Attach the angle bracket (A, Fig. 27) to the bottom side of the rail system using the existing bolt and washer. 2. Mount the switch assembly (B, Fig. 27) to the angle bracket with one hex cap bolt, two flat washers, one lock washer and one hex nut. 3. Attach the long bracket (C, Fig. 27) to the backside of the switch assembly using the existing bolt and nut. Attach the other end of the long bracket to the bolt that holds the swing arm bracket to the cabinet. 14
