2 INSTALLATION INSTUCTIONS Structural Information For standard systems and most custom single door opening systems. General Overview All Krown Lab sliding barn door hardware systems require the provided track fasteners be properly engaged in 3" of structural material. The wall or structure where your system will be mounted must be designed to support the weight specified for the system. See chart below. 4 TACK INSTALLATION Determine track height For standard systems and most custom single door opening systems. Track attachment height (Centerline) Door panel in desired closed position Determine the height of the track: TOP MOUNT + FACE MOUNT: HEIGHT = DOO PANEL HEIGHT + -/" Add 3/4 to this dimension if you are using the optional bottom guide channel. GLASS MOUNT: HEIGHT = DOO PANEL HEIGHT + -3/4" This will result in a /4" clearance between your door panel and floor. Adjust if desired or necessary. 06 Krownlab. All ights eserved. 5 TACK INSTALLATION Locate attachment points Standard 70" track shown below. x" y" y" x" Inset A - Drywall Spacer Kit Installation (Sold separately for heavy doors.) Drill out drywall using -3/8" paddle bit or equivalent. Be careful not to drill into stud. drywall pilot hole Place Optional Shims* and Drywall Spacer in hole, and ensure spacer is flush with drywall surface. *Use Optional Shims if needed to position Drywall Spacer flush or slightly proud of wall. For custom length tracks reference your approved custom drawing. Drill small pilot hole in marked locations. If installing Drywall Spacer Kits reference Inset A. 11 TOLLEY INSTALLATION Top Mounted wood panels Drill pilot hole for trolley fastener.* Partially install fastener. Slide trolley into place as shown. Confirm that the trolley is installed parallel with the door face for smooth operation. Adjust trolley as needed, reference Inset A. Tighten fastener. Carefully hang door panel on track. Bearings may initially make a slight ticking noise until the lubricant is evenly distributed. * efer to page 7 and 8 for wood panel drill hole locations. Inset A - Horizontal Adjustment Adjust trolley to move panel further away or closer to the wall if desired. Fastener head and washer must not overhang the trolley base. 06 Krownlab. Door must not travel beyond Bottom Guide Post in either closed or open positions. Attach Bottom Guide Channel to bottom of door panel. 16 TOLLEY INSTALLATION Glass and resin panels* Maximum panel thickness is 3/4" Inset A - Vertical Adjustment Press rubber bushings onto trolley bosses. Install trolleys, with rubber side of washer plate facing door panel, without tightening fasteners all the way. Use 3/4" fasteners for door panels 3/8" to /" thick. Use " fasteners for door panels 9/6" to 3/4" thick. Carefully hang door panel on track. Adjust door panel vertically as needed, reference Inset A. Tighten all fasteners. 17 GLASS PANEL INSTALLATION Bottom Guide Glass Before proceeding to Final Steps ensure bottom guide solution is implemented. Door must not travel beyond Bottom Guide in either closed or open positions Ensure that door panel hangs perfectly vertical, and mark position of Bottom Guide immediately adjacent to the door opening. emove adjustment cover from the underside of Bottom Guide. Position adjustment plate to fit your door panel thickness, and reattach the adjustment cover. If your door panel is 5/8 or 3/4 thick, you will have received a bottom guide for your specific door panel thickness. emove door panel from track and fasten Bottom Guide to floor with the adjustment plate facing way from the wall. 19 PODUCT MAINTENANCE For all finishes Common Parts Wheels (bearings) should occasionally be lubricated with bearing oil (e.g. SHC 630 Synthetic Gear and Bearing Oil by Exxon Mobil Corp: Brushed Stainless To clean any time after installation, use a non-abrasive lint free cloth or sponge and household glass cleaner. (emember to test an inconspicuous area prior to cleaning hardware.) Do not use steel wool, or a Scotch Brite pad, as it can scratch the product. Black Stainless To enhance the depth and shine of the finish, periodically apply a thin coating of petroleum jelly with a clean cloth, buff clean and dry. Do not use steel wool, or a Scotch Brite pad, as it can scratch the product. Polished Stainless To clean any time after installation, gently wipe down with a clean non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. Stainless steel cleaner (spray) or water can also be used to dampen cloth. Do not let any polished surface come into contact with abrasive materials as the finish can scratch. 06 Krownlab.
