Drill 1 ½- inch pocket holes into the ends and top edge of the front rails. The upward-facing pocket holes will be to attach the tabletop in later steps. Position front rails as shown and attach them to the legs with 2 ½-inch pocket screws and wood glue.

Drill ¾- inch pocket holes into the ends and top edge of the back rails. Position back rails as shown and attach them to the legs with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the ends of the supports and attach them as shown to the front and back frames with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. These supports will be flush to the top. Check for square and adjust if necessary.

Drill ¾-inch pocket holes into the ends and attach to the rails with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue. Notice that these supports will be ¾-inch inset, to allow space for the plywood shelves to sit flush to the rails.

Apply wood glue along the edges of the 2x6 boards and edge-join them together to make the tabletop. Clamp and allow glue to dry. Use cauls to ensure that the boards are aligned, flat, and level. Once dry, measure the tabletop and clamp a straight edge to each end to trim the ends off so that they are all even and the tabletop is 52 inches long. Place the tabletop face down on the ground (you may want to protect the top by laying down a drop cloth first) and center the carcass upside down over the tabletop. There should be a 1 ½-inch overhang on all sides. Attach the top to the carcass with 2-inch pocket screws and wood glue. You may have a hard time getting your drill to fit when you attach the top. If this is the case, you can attach the top by driving screws in from the top of the table top. Countersink the screws and fill with wood putty, if desired.

STEP 5: Measure, mark, and cut plywood shelves to size. Drill ¾-inch pocket holes along the long edges of the plywood. With the console still upside down, attach the shelves to the rails with 1 ¼-inch pocket screws and wood glue.

Notice that there is one board that is slightly narrower than the rest. Use a table saw to rip this board to 3 inches wide. Attach the back boards to the carcass with 1 ¼-inch brad nails and wood glue.

I recommend using these measurements as a guide it is better to hold the board in place, mark, and cut to fit. You may need to adjust the angled cuts as well so cut long and shave off 1/8 inch at a time for the most precise fit.
