Why FFI Lift Slide Lift slide doors allow larger openings with fewer panels and more glass than standard sliders. Architects love its flexibility of design for window walls, pocket doors, curved walls, and corner applications. Lift slide doors maximize views and brings the outdoors in for applications like patios, balconies, resorts, restaurants, and museums. Lift slide can have much lower air & water infiltration than other sliding door options, has strong security and weather-seal, and has been employed on hurricane-tested doors. Panels lift off the sill to allow very large panels to glide easily and quietly, with no friction on the bottom track or weather-seal. Panels can stop at any position for easy access and ventilation. 5 Grades of Stainless Steel The main, moving parts of the FFI SST lift slide systems are stainless steel, in 304 or 430 grade (including drive rods, wheel hubs, lock case). FFI 304 grade SST is recommended for use within 5 miles of seacoast, with 15-year warranty against corrosion failure. 304 premium grade SST has higher corrosion resistance than 430 SST, and the carriages have 400-series SST ball bearings. FFI 430 grade SST is warrantied for 15 years in most areas, and has a 2-year warranty against corrosion failure within 5 miles of seacoast. 430 has higher corrosion resistance than other 400 series SST and is superior to all coated or plated steels.
