4 Generl Requirements NCC Complince All design, mterils nd construction must comply with the relevnt requirements of the NCC nd other pplicle codes nd stndrds. Wethertex is ISO 9001 certified for qulity nd complies with the product stndrd AS (HB.E) Exterior Grde Hrdord. Cutting & Sfety Stndrd helth nd sfety precutions should e tken when working with timer products. Mchine tools should e fitted with dust extrctors nd work res kept clen. If dust levels exceed Work sfe Austrli Stndrds the wering of dust msk (AS 1715 nd AS 1716) nd sfety glsses (AS 1337) is recommended. Cut plnks using slide compound mitre sw with high qulity 80 teeth lde. Consistent cutting pressure nd msking gurds nd jigs will prevent scrtching nd chipping of the surfce. Ground Clernce Lower frming memers must e isolted from ground moisture y suitle dmp proofing. Similrly, Wethertex must not e plced in direct contct with msonry, rickwork or concrete. Where necessry use strips of Alcor flshing to isolte mterils nd use overhnging srking t the se of the wll to isolte the Wethertex from sl work. Allow t lest 100mm clernce etween the ottom edge of the Wethertex nd seled ground nd t lest 225mm clernce from unprotected ground. The grde of djcent ground must e sloping wy from the uilding to void the possiility of wter ccumultion. Frming Wethertex is le to e instlled onto timer or steel furring chnnels/tophts/ttens. The requirements in this guide detil the connection of Wethertex cldding to the furring chnnels only. Detiling the structurl connection nd support requirements of the furring chnnels to the su-frme must e completed y the project s structurl engineer or competent person. Moisture Mngement & Flshing Considertion must e tken to prevent moisture nd condenstion relted risks ccounting for interior nd exterior environments of the uilding. Construction design must effectively mnge moisture, prticulrly in uildings tht hve high risk of wind driven rin. Externl wll junctions, penetrtions nd openings must e ppropritely flshed in ccordnce with the NCC to prevent ingress into the wll cvity. Filure to ppropritely flsh these res will void the mnufcturers wrrnty. On wlls projecting from the roof line in upper storey construction, keep the ottom edge of the Wethertex mteril 70mm cler of roof clddings. Wterproof with n pproved flshing. Wethertex ord is not suitle for wet res where specifictions require wter proof mterils. Refer to AS 3740 for guidnce on wet re construction detils. Vpour Permele Srking Vpour permele srking/memrne must e used under ll light weight cldding products. The vpour permele srking llows for the controlled escpe of wter vpour from within the uilding whilst restricting the ingress of liquid moisture. Seling Cut Edges Swn edges must e lightly snded to remove loose fiers nd seled with high qulity exterior crylic primer efore using joining ccessories. For exposed edges, lso pply 2 cots of touchup pint nd wipe excess from the fce surfce. Allow pproprite drying time etween cots. Touch up Kit The touch-up kit supplied should e used t the end of construction to fix ny smll mrks in the pint. Selnt & Glues Appliction nd use of selnt must comply with the mnufcturers instructions. Selnt products must e checked for comptiility with the Wethertex system. Only high qulity, flexile, pintle polyurethne selnts my e used. Where systems use construction dhesives, follow the instlltion instructions detiled for specified system. Mintennce Regulrly wsh the pinted surfce with sopy wter to remove dirt nd grime. Periodiclly inspect nd repir ny dmge to cotings, sustrte or selnts. Dmge to the pinted surfce my e lightly snded nd touched up with the mtching touch up pint kit when required. Fsteners must e driven flush to the ord surfce s overdriving will drmticlly reduce the holding cpcity. 2.
