Please DO NOT WRITE NAMES ON PENCILS as they become part of the general classroom supply for all students to share. * Over the summer, please review letter names and letter sounds. Please help your child to count out small objects, like buttons, cereal, toys, etc. Roll 1 die or 2 dice and have them count the dots. This will help with number recognition. * Please encourage your child to hold a pen or pencil properly. They should have only their thumb and pointer finger holding the pencil with the remaining 3 fingers curled underneath. * While driving in the car, you can help to spark your child s creativity by starting to tell a story and encouraging your child to finish the story.
