2 INTRODUCTION The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their special brand of awesome come back to the big screen this summer when our favorite crime fighting heroes in a half shell decide to come out of the shadows. In the first film, fans discovered the brothers origin story, their values, love of New York City and ability to kick some serious bad guy butt. With the second film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, we get to know these beloved turtles as they struggle with their place in the world while simultaneously saving it from disaster. In order to attempt to save the city and people they love, the Turtles are forced to risk it all and emerge from underground, out into a world that doesn t always accept them. Through art, we want to explore this concept of coming out of the shadows. To make it extra fun, we will be creating custom sewer access covers that display the artwork in a contextual, eye-catching manner, bringing it to the street. 2

15 LIGHT REFERENCE Lighting during the golden hour is soft, diffused, and warm. In the story, the Turtles are revealing themselves for this first time during daylight. The golden hour encompasses that feeling of being in-between worlds, not quite day, not quite night. Just as the Turtles are not quite human, but not completely animals. We encourage artwork to make use of this lighting style/time of day. 15
