2 2 From the Committee... Dear Fellow Relayers and Friends, Welcome to the 20th annual Jackson Community Relay For Life. Whether you spend one hour or the entire 24 hours with us, we hope you walk away with a memorable experience. Thank you for visiting our virtual program book. This booklet is our way to pay tribute to our sponsors, teams, luminary recipients and especially all cancer survivors: for this is truly the reason we are all here. It is available for you to view online. You may also print it in booklet form using the instructions posted on our website. By supporting Relay for Life, we are truly working to fight back against this dreadful disease. Our efforts help by providing more funds for cancer research, advocating for early detection and prevention through education, and serving those in need. Our ultimate goal is to get to the place where we will never need another Relay. Road to Recovery-Transportation to treatment for ambulatory cancer patients Support Groups-Support groups are available to help patients and their families living with the everyday challenges of cancer. Look Good...Feel Better & Wig Banks-Teaches cancer patients how to cope with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program-Free screening for uninsured and underinsured women. Tell-A-Friend-A peer education program for people to call five women they care about and encourage them to get a mammogram. College Scholarship Program-A special scholarship for students from MI and IN who through the age of 21 and have been diagnosed with cancer. Camp Catch-A-Rainbow-A free, fun filled camp for youths who have or have had cancer is staffed by physicians and oncology nurses. It offers exercise, recreation and companionship with activities placed to meet the needs of children between the ages of 4 and 18.
