7 DESPRE LECTORI Catherine WESTBROOK Catherine Westbrook este conferenţiar şi iniţiator absolvent al Facultăţii Health & Social Care, Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge, fiind responsabilă de cursurile de IRM, CT, Radiografie şi Radioterapie pentru absolvenţi. Catherine este de asemenea consultant independent în instruirea şi evaluarea clienţilor din întreaga lume în subiecte legate de radiografie şi IRM. Are experienţă în domeniul IRM încă din 1990 şi deţine un masterat în imagistica prin rezonanţă magnetică, un Certificat Post-Absolvire în învăţare, instruire şi fellowship în Advanced MRI. Este membru al Higher Education Academy şi profesor de aplicaţii clinice atestat. A predat IRM pentru Practice Course and the International Somerset MRI o perioadă îndelungată şi, de asemenea, instruieşte şi examinează pentru mai multe cursuri naţionale şi internaţionale, incluzând programe pentru studenţi şi absolvenţi. În particular, Catherine a fost implicată în dezvoltarea primelor cursuri de comunicare pentru medici radiologi şi asistenţi operatori IRM. Catherine este autoarea MRI in Practice, "Handbook of MRI Technique", "MRI at a Glance" şi a multor alte articole. Catherine a fost preşedintele următoarelor organizaţii: British Association of MR Radiographers, Consortium for the Accreditation of Clinical MR Education şi secretar de onoare al British Institute of Radiology." pag. 5
8 DESPRE LECTORI John TALBOT John Talbot este conferenţiar în imagistică medicală al Institutului Health & Social Care, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. În trecut a ocupat funcţia de Medic Radiolog, Educatie şi Cercetare la Oxford MRI / Oxford University. Deţine un masterat în imagistica prin rezonanţă magnetică şi între anii a lucrat exclusiv în acest domeniu. A susţinut numeroase cursuri IRM, inclusiv Cursul IRM Oxford, Cursul IRM International Somerset şi, recent Cursul pentru medicii radiologi în IRM, Oxford. La acestea se adaugă cursurile de practică IRM şi cursurile IRM pentru studenţi, prezentate împreună cu Catherine Westbrook. Ca publicist, John este colaborator şi ilustrator al celei de-a treia ediţii a MRI in Practice (Blackwell), al celei de-a treia ediţii a A Handbook of MRI Technique (Blackwell Science) şi coautor al "Medical Imaging- Techniques, Reflection & Evaluation" (Elsevier). În domeniul elearning, John este producător/coautor al Somerset MRI Course CD ROM. Principalul interes a lui John este integrarea tehnologiei în predare.
