2 Power contactors for AC and DC, Series CT Owing to a new blowout technology, CT Series contactors can be used in almost any AC or DC railway network, even in countries where the normal tolerances are exceeded. The single pole contactor ensures low-wear and reliable switching of both extremely low and very high loads. Double and triple pole styles are being developed. Especially robust and environmentally friendly materials, from plastics featuring low smoke and low content of toxic gases up to cadmium-free contact tips, are used for the CT000. It has been tested and approved by independent laboratories. Features Compact, rugged design breaking capacity levels, 4 current ratings Double-break contacts, (normally open),, and 3 pole versions Easy maintenance: Easy inspection and replacement of main contact tips Easy replacement of arc chute Drive system with coil tolerance according to railway standards, no economy circuit required! Functional insulation for main circuit Basic insulation between main circuit and protective earth Reinforced insulation between main circuit and control circuit / auxiliary circuit and protective earth Applications Main contactor for: traction motors convertors inverters for auxiliary equipment Contactor for: field circuits of motors conventional resistor based traction units (retrofit) starters and compressor motors Power switch for heating circuits Contactor for a host of industrial applications Standards IEC 60077: Railway applications Electric equipment for rolling stock EN 504-: Railway applications Insulation coordination Part : Basic requirements Clearances and creepage distances for all electrical and electronic equipment Ordering code Series CT CT CT3 Nominal voltage Example: pole NO contactor pole NO contactor 3 pole NO contactor 5 U n =,500 V 30 U n = 3,000 V Conv. thermal current 0 I th = 50 A* 04 I th = 400 A 08 I th = 800 A* 4 I th =,500 A* Mounting position H V Coil voltage Horizontal (lock bar yellow) Vertical (lock bar red) 4 / 36 / 7 / 0 V DC Coil tolerance E -30 % +5 % Coil suppression T Suppressor diode Auxiliary switches, number and type 00 x S870* 3 (a ) x S870* 3 (b 0 ) x S86 a L* 4 0 x S870* 3 (a ) x S870* 3 (b 0 ) x S86* 4 0 4x S86* x S86* 4 04 x S870* 4 * Series planned * 3 See also catalogue D70 * Series in development * 4 See also catalogue D6 CT30/04 H 0ET-00 Flat tabs 6.3 x 0.8 Flat tabs 6.3 x 0.8 Presented in this catalogue are only stock items which can be supplied in short delivery time. 4 4 Maintenance instructions Except for the main contacts and the arc chute, CT000 Series contactors are maintenance free. The design allows easy access to all parts which require maintenance. So when installing the contactor, make sure that there is enough space to remove and replace the arc chute with ease and that the main contacts become accessible for inspection. Safety instructions The switching device meets the requirements of basic insulation. In addition to that, the bar onto which the drive of the contactor is mounted should be earthed in a vibration resistant way. Use of the contactor without properly mounted arc chute is not permitted. The contactor has unprotected live parts and carries a label that warns of the hazard. This caution must be observed and the label must not be removed in any way. The required clearance to other live parts and earth is also to be observed as well as the safety regulations of the applicable standards. Mounting instructions Release slider to unlock arc chute Lock bar with indicator left: open position, right: locked position Coil suppression for reducing surges when the coil is switched off is optimally attuned to the contactor s switching behaviour. Move all four levers for unlocking the arc chute into the original position. 3. Check: The arc chute is locked properly, if all four lock bars click into place and cannot be opened without pushing the release slider. Make sure arc chamber is latched properly in final position Arc chute Latching lever Coil suppression Taking off the arc chute:. Push both release sliders in the direction indicated by the arrow and hold them in this position.. Move all four levers for unlocking the arc chute in the direction indicated by the arrow. 3.
