4 01. Before Using The TG37 SSB BFO adapter is specially designed for using on some broadcasting radios to demodulate the SSB signal. [NOTE]: The TG37 SSB BFO adapter supports the working on the Redsun RP2000 and RP2100 radio, C.Crane CC-SW radio, Kaito KA2100 radio, Roadstar TRA-2350P radio, and Grundig S450DLX radio. The TG37 SSB BFO adapter implement the SSB signal demodulation function only, it is not used for the SSB signal modulation. It is highly recommended to use the battery as the power supply to drive your radio, the generic wall AC power adapter will make the big AC noise, this AC noise will reduce the signal quality and may will cause the failed on the SSB signal reception. The TG37 SSB BFO adapter implement the SSB signal demodulation function only, it is not for the signal reception. The SSB signal on the shortwave band is very weak and very hard to capture, so it is highly recommended to use the good external antenna to receive it, this is the key point for the success of the SSB signal reception. Because the AM IF OUT interface designed on the RP2100 radio is fully different than the S450DLX radio, so we provide one converter (F type to PAL type) for this case, when working on the RP2100 radio, please install this converter on the one end of the connection cable. Because the component difference reason, the different radio may will has some slight frequency shift, so some times need to change the frequency up or down 1KHz to get the best signal. For example, the real SSB signal is at 7050KHz, but because the component difference reason, may will has the frequency shift on the radio, so need to change tuning to 7049KHz or 7051KHz to get the best signal.

5 02. Power Supply The TG37 SSB BFO adapter use 4pcs AA size 1.5V batteries as the power supply. [NOTE]: Please don t use the external AC power adapter to drive the TG37 SSB BFO adapter, this will make the big AC noise and will cause the failed of the working. Please open the battery compartment cover, install the 4pcs AA size 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment base on the correct polarity. When the battery is installed in the TG37 SSB BFO adapter, press the [POWER] switch will has the LED light on the front panel.

6 03. Power On and Power Off When the TG37 SSB BFO adapter is in the power off status, please press the [POWER] switch will power on it. When the TG37 SSB BFO adapter is in the power on status, please press the [POWER] switch will power off it. [NOTE]: When the TG37 SSB BFO adapter is in the power on status, the LED on the front panel will be light.

7 04. Application On RP2100 Please install 4pcs AA size 1.5V batteries in the TG37 SSB BFO adapter base on the correct polarity. Please install the converter (F type to PAL type) on the one end of the connection cable. Please connect the TG37 SSB BFO adapter to the RP2100 radio by the connection cable (with the F type to PAL type converter installed). [NOTE]: The interface used on the RP2100 radio should be the AM IF OUT on the back panel. [NOTE]: The interface used on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter should be the RP2100/CC-SW on the back panel. Please press the [POWER] switch to power on the RP2100 radio, setup the [TUNING STEP] in the SLOW mode and the [BANDWIDTH] switch at the AM NARROW mode. Please use the [AM BAND] switch to select the working band (SW1, SW2 or SW3). Please turn the [TUNING] knob on the RP2100 radio and make it works on the frequency of the SSB signal. Please power on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter, the LED on the front panel will be light, and the sound from the RP2100 radio speaker will be changed than the original when the TG37 SSB BFO adapter is in power off status. This means the connection and setup is correct. Please turn the [BFO TUNING] knob on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter front panel, the sound from the RP2100 radio speaker will be changed also, continue turn the [BFO TUNING] knob very slowly and very carefully till can hear the SSB broadcasting clearly. [NOTE]: The operation for the Redsun RP2000 radio, C.Crane CC-SW radio, Kaito KA2100 radio and Roadstar TRA-2350P radio is same as the operation on the Redsun RP2100 radio.

8 05. Application On S450DLX Please install 4pcs AA size 1.5V batteries in the TG37 SSB BFO adapter base on the correct polarity. Please connect the TG37 SSB BFO adapter to the S450DLX radio by the connection cable (without the F type to PAL type converter installed). [NOTE]: The interface used on the S450DLX radio should be the AM IF OUT on the back panel. [NOTE]: The interface used on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter should be the S450DLX on the back panel. Please press the [POWER] switch to power on the S450DLX radio, setup the [TUNING STEP] in the SLOW mode and the [BANDWIDTH] switch at the AM NARROW mode. Please use the [AM BAND] switch to select the working band (SW1, SW2 or SW3). Please turn the [TUNING] knob on the S450DLX radio and make it works on the frequency of the SSB signal. Please power on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter, the LED on the front panel will be light, and the sound from the S450DLX radio speaker will be changed than the original when the TG37 SSB BFO adapter is in power off status. This means the connection and setup is correct. Please turn the [BFO TUNING] knob on the TG37 SSB BFO adapter front panel, the sound from the S450DLX radio speaker will be changed also, continue turn the [BFO TUNING] knob very slowly and very carefully till can hear the SSB broadcasting clearly.

9 06. About Battery The TG37 SSB BFO adapter only accepts using the AA size 1.5V Alkaline battery or AA size 1.5V Ni-MH rechargeable battery, please don t try to use any other type battery. Please don t mixed using the new and used battery together. Please take the battery out from the battery compartment if long time not using the TG37 SSB BFO adapter.
