Then turn ON/OFF switch to OFF and pull mains plug. Based on the present operating manual the lamp can now be exchanged and the filter system can be cleaned. Plug in mains plug and reset ON/OFF switch to ON. PROGRAM INTERRUPTED CONTINUE --> START START/APE Comment: After pressing START the program will continue at the point of interruption, or press " to completely stop the program. 7. Comment: SUNTEST supports an RS232 to download measurement data to a computer or printer while a program is in progress. At the start of the program, the length in time of the interface record can be entered in a range of 0 to 999 minutes. With an entry of 0 there will be no printout. 11 DISPLAY TEXT INPUT/KEY PAD 8. Comment: Because the maximum irradiance value depends on the inserted filter, the relevant filter characteristics have to be entered. PARAMETER SYSTEM DATA SELECTION FILTER SELECTION A B C D E F G H Comment: The inserted filter configuration can be selected with the arrow keys and confirmed by pressing. The following letters correspond to the inserted filter configuration: A: coated quartz glass, B: coated quartz glass with UV special glass, C: coated quartz glass with special window glass, D: uncoated quartz glass, E: uncoated quartz glass with UV special glass, F: uncoated quartz glass with special window glass, G: coated quartz glass with 6 mm window glass "Solar ID 65" (filter acc. to ICH Guideline), H: coated quartz glass with 1 mm WG320 "Solar Standard" (filter acc. to COLIPA). 9. Calibration Comment: The calibration shall only be carried out when a coated quartz glass dish is installed. For this, a XenoCal resp. Radialux ( nm) (option) is placed in the test chamber and is connected to the reading unit. For more calibaration details please refer to the Operating Manual of the SUNTEST XLS/XLS+. PARAMETER SYSTEM DATA CALIBRATION 9.1 Calibrating the irradiance CALIBR. E (W/m²) CALIBRIBRATION: E= set E= sensor nnn Comment: With E= set, the irradiance value at which the calibration should be carried out is set and has to be confirmed with. Afterwards, the lamp ignites automatically and runs up to the set value. The irradiance value displayed by the XenoSoft software has to be entered at E= sensor. (For calibration with the Radialux, the irradiance value displayed on the reading unit has to be entered at E= set after multiplication with the filter factor of the filter systmes installed).the relevant calibration factor is calculated and indicated by the control unit. E (W/m²): BST ( C): ok? Page 11
12 DISPLAY TEXT INPUT/KEY PAD 9.2 Calibrating the black standard temperature Comment: To calibrate the black standard thermometer, a temperature sensor (option) has to be placed in the test chamber. CALIBR: BST( C) CALIBRIBRATION: E= set BST= set nnn (2x) Comment: The irradiance value has to be entered at E= set, and the value for the black standard temperature required for calibration has to be entered at BST= set. Afterwards the SUNTEST is started by the control unit and displays the setpoint and the actual black standard values. BST ( C) SET VAL: BST ( C) ACT VAL: STOP Comment: When the final temperature is reached the program is interrupted by pressing the STOP key, the temperature value is read out immediatele and after the automatic restart of the program (and after the automatic cooling period) the temperature value can be entered. BST SENSOR VALUE BST= SENSOR Comment: The calibration factor is automatically calculated by the control unit. E (W/m²): BST ( C): ok? WARNING! The sensor warms up during exposure in the SUNTEST. Before touching put on protective gloves. Burn hazard! 10. Changing the Xenon-lamp Comment: The lamp exchange is described in the enclosed operating manual. An interrupted program can be continued after the exchange of a lamp. PARAMETER XENONLAMP NEW XENONLAMP: YES NO Comment: When changing the lamp, the lamp s age can be set to zero by pressing. Page 12
