2 Why are we here? Define : What is success = Establish long term solution for Public Safety Land-Mobile Radio FCC Mandate- Middles Class Tax Relief Act of 2012 The FCC is requiring Butler County to vacate their radio channels in UHF T- Band prior to 2022.

3 Why are we here? Coverage First responders cannot reliably communicate in Zelienople and Northern Areas of County Capacity Population growth rate is at 5.65% and rising putting strain on the radio system Loss of radio transmissions due to overloading radio channels

4 Why are we here? Reliability Risk of losing radio communications due to unreliable backhaul Interoperability Neighboring Counties have different radio systems increasing difficulty to communicate

5 Why are we here? Functionality Consoles and Radio equipment is approaching end of life in 2018 and Potential adversaries can monitor sensitive radio transmissions from Law Enforcement (encryption)
