2 G, G NPT Screwed Globe Control Vlves Instruction Mnul Mounting Preferred Mounting DO NOT INSTLL ITH CTUTO ELO PIPE Optionl Mounting llow 6" for ctutor/dptor brcket removl. NOTE: DO NOT COVE DPTO CKET ITH INSULTION MTEIL. 6 Instlltion. Inspect shipping pckge, vlve, linkge, nd ctutor for physicl dmge. If shipping dmge hs occurred notify pproprite crrier. Do not instll.. If replcement, remove existing vlve, linkge nd ctutor from the piping system.. If ctutor nd linkge re removed, they must be reinstlled correctly. The ctutor must be rotted so tht the vlve sits properly for close off. 4. Instll vlve with the proper ports s inlets nd outlets. Check tht inlet nd outlet of -wy vlves re correct; check tht the "","", nd "" ports of -wy vlves re piped correctly for mixing nd diverting. Flow direction rrows must be correct. See supplied drwings on previous pge. 5. low out ll piping nd thoroughly clen before vlve instlltion. 6. Clen mle pipe threds with wire brush nd rg. If threds hve been dmged or exposed to wether, running tp or die over the threds my strighten them. Clen pipes, threds, nd vlve threds before instlltion; check for ny foreign mteril tht cn become lodged in trim components. Striners should be clened fter initil strtup.. Pipe seling compound should be pplied springly fter clening nd my not be pplied to the two led threds of screwed pipe, which re innermost inside the vlve. Seling compound is to be plced on mle threds only. The purpose is to lubricte the pipes when tightening.. Vlve must be instlled per the mounting drwings shown.. Strt the connection by turning the vlve or pipe by hnd s fr s possible. e certin the threds mte by the "feel" of the connection. 0. Use wrenches to tighten the vlve to the pipe. Do not over tighten or strip the threds. Two wrenches re necessry to void dmging the vlve.. Two-wy vlve Normlly Open or Closed confi gurtions must be verifi ed by exmining both the mechnicl drwings nd the vlve nd ctutor. See detils below.. Three-wy vlve Normlly Open or Closed confi gurtions for the Control Port nd the ypss Port must be verifi ed by exmining both the mechnicl drwings nd the vlve nd ctutor. void instlltions where vlve my be exposed to excessive moisture, corrosive fumes, vibrtion, high mbient tempertures, elements, or high trffi c res with potentil for mechnicl dmge. Vlve ssembly loction must be within mbient rtings of ctutor. The vlve ssembly will require het shielding, therml isoltion, or cooling if combined effect of medium nd mbient tempertures conduction, convection, nd rdition is bove F for prolonged time periods t the ctutor. Striners should be instlled before coil nd vlve. Visul ccess must be provided. ssembly must be ccessible for routine scheduled service. Contrctor should provide unions for removl from line nd isoltion vlves. In the piping digrms the nd ports my need to be reversed or the ctutor set up spring open or fil sfe open differently thn shown. The specific ppliction determines wht fil sfe mode is required for freeze or moisture control if pplicble. rning! Vlve should not be used for combustible gs pplictions. Gs leks nd explosions my result. Do not instll in systems which exceed the rtings of the vlve. void excessive stresses. Mechnicl support must be provided where reducers hve been used nd the piping system my hve less structurl integrity thn full pipe sizes. Suffi cient upstrem nd downstrem piping runs must be provided to ensure proper vlve cpcity nd fl ow response. Five dimeters in ech direction re recommended. Life spn of vlve stems nd pcking is dependent on mintining non-dmging conditions. Poor wter tretment or fi ltrtion, corrosion, scle, other prticulte cn result in dmge to trim components. wter tretment specilist should be consulted.
