2 [Session #1 Title] European Union (EU) Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive The European Union's WEEE directive requires that products sold into EU countries must have the crossed out trash bin label on the product (or the package in some cases). As defined by the WEEE directive, this cross-out trash bin label means that customers and end-users in EU countries should not dispose of electronic and electrical equipment or accessories in household waste. Customers or end-users in EU countries should contact their local equipment supplier representative or service centre for information about the waste collection system in their country. 3 [Session #1 Title] Definitions Base (jurisdictional) LTE Incident Priority Jurisdiction Jurisdictional Coverage Area Mutual Aid Presentity Subscriber Device Subscriber Radio Talkgroup TETRA The nominal priority; the priority a user or device has in a communications system if not specifically assigned some other incident priority A standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. Escalated priority within the communications system to ensure that the team that has been assigned this priority has uninterrupted communications The geographical area in which an agency has authority The geographical area served by an agency Temporary authorization for visiting users and devices to access the system at the priority level that they have been assigned An entity for which presence is reported and tracked In these systems, handhelds and mobile workstations In these systems, an individual portable or mobile two-way radio unit A set of users who share a radio channel A radio network standard Supported Devices MW800, ML900 (PMDC), MC35 MTP850, MTH800, MTM800 Barrett 2050 Transceiver CM5000 CM9000 Codan 2020 HGT Transceiver Darim PVE MCNF RFID, Axis MDVR, Milestone, ML910, MW810, MW800 Motorola XR series RFID readers SOLO SRH3500W SRH3900 SRP2000 T8 THR880i Thuraya XT Satellite phone VSM provides GPS receiver for in-vehicle MDT. 4 [Session #2 Title] Common Application Access All system services provide an industry standard-based 4HQQ Web services interface, which helps maintain a set of interfaces to the application across all services. The 4HQQ Parlay X standard uses generally accepted Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)-based Web services technologies and has service definitions for those provided by the system. The interfaces are based on these standards, but also provide proprietary extensions to these interfaces. This helps differentiate and add value to Motorola Solutions products. Commonality of Services The services support multiple RANs, including, PS LTE and IP systems. As features and functionality are added for a network, these services are provided when possible to all RAN types. Additionally, each service provides commonality from the application interface (such as common application protocols, authentication, and authorization mechanisms). System Presence Service The Presence Service lets applications within the system CEN obtain and dynamically track information that includes whether the subscriber radio Device ID or User Name is present (or absent) on the IV&D system. The Presence Service is deployable with an 25 system or an Conventional with Integrated Voice and Data (IV&D) system, Release 8.1 or newer. The Presence system works by subscriber radios reporting to the Presence Service when they undergo any of several state transitions: Power On Power Off Join System User Login User Logout Also, the Presence Service enforces certain business rules for system subscriber radios: A user may only be logged into one radio at a time. A user may only be logged into the UNS system for a period of time. A Devices must re-register with UNS periodically or become inactive. The Presence Service is backward compatible with legacy data applications, such as the Text Messaging Service (TMS) and QPQ Telemetry This system provides telemetry support for Olympic and for TrakM3 SOLO and R8 devices over IP networks. Page 16 SAP [Course Name] Procedure Reference Guide
5 [Session #1 Title] As well as tracking the location of a device, mapping applications can also track the status of pins on target devices using an appropriate API. Telemetry capabilities are available with the system configuration, as follows: Five digital inputs can be used to interface with sensors (like ignition or door) in a vehicle. Two digital outputs can be used to interface with actuators (like control sirens, lights or blinkers) in a vehicle. One analog input can be used for battery measurement. Telemetry capabilities track the status of the pins on the R8 devices using an API. 3.2 Location Application Services Location application services are not Information Assurance-compliant Event and Boundary Services The Event and Boundary Services are hosted within the Location Service suite. Based on reported location, the service checks whether certain boundary conditions have been violated or whether prescribed events have occurred. It then raises events based on geofence violations, speed violations and excessive idle time as well as changes in trigger and device states for interested third-party applications. Using the legacy Web services API, third-party applications can set up geofences and subscribe to location-based events. Type of events that can be triggered when a boundary condition is detected include, but are not limited to: Callouts to Mapping Callouts to third-party applications Transmissions of an over-the-air message Transmissions of a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) alarm See the specific details on configuration of the Event and Boundary Services. This functionality is unavailable on the 4HQQ Parlay X Web services API RFID Cell-Based Location The Location Service provides the framework for reporting indoor location, based on RFID readers and tags used for this purpose. It is possible to report an approximate position based on the last RFID tag scanning, as well as the direction in which the tag is moving Archiving The Location Service persistently stores all location history and periodically archives it and creates a backup. Archived location reports may be useful in forensic investigations. Customers can configure archiving for a specified time period (days online). Reports are purged after a configurable time period. SAP [Course Name] Procedure Reference Guide 17
6 [Session #2 Title] Customers are responsible for backing up data onto an appropriate medium and storing it safely offsite. 3.3 Backwards Compatibility The Location Service retains compatibility with existing IP application interfaces. Implementation of the 4Hqq interface requires upgrading applications that use prior implementations. This adds a new mechanism to report the result of multiple device request s when one or more device updates fail. 3.4 Operational Considerations Device Provisioning Administrators must pre-provision the Location Service systems with the IDs of participating GPS-enabled devices. The Location Service does not track system devices that are not provisioned in its database. Administrators can set parameters for each device, such as the device location reporting rate and type. Customers can configure a Location Service deployed for an IP network to dynamically auto-provision devices with default settings when a location report is received from a device that has not been recorded in the provisioning database. System provisions subscriber devices that participate in location tracking by recording their Friendly IDs in the UNS device registry. The system extracts and retains the Device ID from the registration message received from the radio Network Configuration For each deployment, consult the product manuals for more details on configuration Network 25 System Deployments Configure the firewall and border router to enable communications between the customer network and subscriber radios through port numbers that are reserved for location reporting. See the Installation and Configuration sections of the Integrated Voice and Data System Gateways HHN9000 or 25 Integrated Voice and Data System Routers /T3600 manuals for more information IP Deployments Configure the RNI-screened-subnet firewall to enable communications between the Location Service and the following: MDADIs ATIA 1 Short Data Router (SDR) Air Traffic Router (ATR) Page 18 SAP [Course Name] Procedure Reference Guide
