1 Linwood-Bay Sportsman s Club 1643 E. Linwood Rd. Linwood, MI linwoodbaysportsmans.com Quarter 4 July, August, September Bring friends. If you are interested in getting inv olved in 3 Gun, reach out to Mike or Shaun for more info. They have another great match planne d for August 9th. Registration is available by clic king the link on our website. V.P. Sights The second quarter of our year is over, the summ er is nearing an end, and school supplies are even out in the stores now. Time really does slip away when you are busy and things at LBSC have bee n busy. IDPA - The 9th Great Lakes Regional is in the b ooks and was once again a great success. This ye ar we brought on many workers from all over the world to help. No really, all over the world. We h ad people from Canada, Italy, Lithuania, and sev eral states in the US, as well as from other clubs i n Michigan that came to help out. The Michigan State Match is being hosted by our club once aga in, and will take place the third weekend of Augu st. The number of shooters is already at 190 at th e time this article is being written. The club is sti ll holding defensive pistol practices on Wednesd ay night s beginning at 6:30. As is the case most summers, the numbers are low right now, so if y ou have been thinking about trying it, now is a gr eat time. 3 Gun - Mike and Shaun put on a great match in June and had several people from downstate take part. They had good feedback and those guys tha t traveled here said they will come again, and Shotgun - The shotgun crew is here on Tuesday nights and doing a great job. Right now, they say their numbers are up from this time last year. Th ey are excited to have some new shooters comin g out to take part. If you are interested, but need more info, make sure to look up Jim B on the we bsite and get in touch with him. I heard a rumor t hat he might even be able to get there a little earl y at times, if you reach out to him in advance, an d he can give some pointers and a little extra inst ruction if you want it. Big Bore/Rifle - These guys are going strong and running several matches at the Munger facility. Want to know more about the rifle matches, reac h out to Scott or Larry to find out more. Linwood Bay Sportsman's Club around the count ry - Our club is being represented around the cou ntry in different ways. We have some of the rifle shooters heading out to Camp Perry. In June sev eral members traveled to shoot IDPA at the Caro lina Cup. In September, we have a large group g oing to Ohio to shoot the Ohio State Match. In O ctober, several people are going to travel to Kent uckiana (well, Indiana on the Kentucky border) t o shoot the Kentuckiana Kolonel. Good luck to a ll. If you do well at these events, or if you have a nother event you would like recognized, let me k now. (V.P. Sights Continued Next page) 1
2 (V.P. Sights Continued from Page 1) If you have pictures, share them with us and we might be able to put something on the website or next newsletter. Eagle Scout Project completed - DJ Beebe has co mpleted his Eagle Scout project which included painting the small range, building some Bianchi barricades, and doing some painting on the pavili on outside. Thank you DJ for all your hard work for our club, we appreciate it. Project Appleseed - Once again, our club is hosti ng a Project Appleseed at the Munger facility. Re gistration is full, and the exciting thing is, I think it is mostly kids that filled the spots. It is great to see kids taking part in the shooting sports.
