2 Summar y AMVI series medium-voltage inverter, produced by AUBO Electric Co. Ltd, is a high tech product with our own intellectual property rights and good performance. To produce it, modern process of manufacturing mechanical and electrical product is widely applied. It has been widely used in all kinds of variable speed control of 3-10KV medium voltage motor of big power. By using the technology of multi voltage level and putting IGBT power unit series in stack, the product is as perfect as harmonic free.it takes the most advanced technology in the field of digital control and power electronic technology like "power electronics technology", "microelectronics technology", "computer technology", "photo-electricity communication technology","automatic control technology" and etc. This series inverters reflect our company's variety of our independent intellectual property rights, while the main technical specifications have reached the world advanced level after several optimized design. As a result of our company's independent intellectual property rights, after many optimized design and innovation, we have improved system's stability and reliability.it has obvious advantages during usage, not only saving power significantly, but also bring huge economic benefits to the company by improving the process, improving the quality of operation, and reducing the production cost, etc. At the meantime it cooperates with motor automatic control system forms a complete optimized motor control system, improving the automatic switch-on, and helps to save man power and cost, enhancing the overall automation level of the company and its overall management level. Three-phase AC asynchronous motor are widely used because of their simple structure, durable and adaptable operation and its low price as well. However, due to the power grid's voltage and frequency are constant, AC motor cause huge waste of energy in many applications. As a kind of effective, energy saving, and harmonic free MV power, frequency conversion equipment, it converts normal power supply to a supply with adjustable frequency and voltage,to control the motor speed, meeting the requirements of motor speed regulation and energy saving in all complicated situations. These series inverters are applicable to 3kv / 6kv/10kv medium voltage motors, and they can make the motor run the best by proper control. For either a new system design or a system retrofit, these series inverters not only can save energy obviously, but also can realize the automatic operation of the system, which improves system's stability, reliability, and the production process. They also increase equipment's service life, and reduce the system's maintenance. These series of medium voltage inverters use multi-level program. The input isolation transformer has multiple isolated deputy windings, each of which powers the power unitindividually. Then comes the medium voltage output by putting several low voltage power unit in serial stack. 1

3 Medium voltage inverter structure: AMVI series medium voltage inverter has the following structure: 3-10kv power supply goes from the MV bypass cabinet to the isolated phase -shifting transformer, passing through the deputy windings of the multi-isolation, supply power to several IGBT power units of each phase separately. High voltage output to the high voltage motor is realized by putting multiple power unit in cascade superposition per phase, as the unit output is connected in series. It's the medium voltage inverter of high voltage source type which uses the advanced multilevel isolation technique. By putting several IGBT power units in series superposition, the output is got in a form of pure sine wave, realizing the high input power factor, low input current harmonics. It's the real perfect harmony free inverter. The system control uses the world's advanced motor control technology, based on special dual digital DSP chip and PLC as the core.it has a very large integrated circuit, with accurate data collection, high speed operation, etc. It also has the function of complete monitoring and protection. All control units communicates with the main control board via fiber optics, which ensure the reliable control of the equipment. AMVI series 6kv inverter has six power units connected in series each phase, with 18 power units for the whole system, which forms 36 pulse rectifier operations and can eliminate 35 times harmonics effectively. Rated voltage of each unit is about 590v and each phase has a IGBT power unit for automatic redundancy backup, which has the function of quickly balancing the power output of other power unit. In 10kv inverter system, each phase has nine power units connected in series. The system has a total of 27 power unit which get 54 pulse rectifier operations and can eliminate 53 times harmonics effectively. Rated voltage of each unit's is 640 v and each phase has a IGBT power unit, with automatic redundancy backup, which have the function of quickly balancing the power output of other power unit. For a 10kv power unit, each unit bears the full motor's current, but only shares 1/9 phase voltage and 1/27output power. Medium-voltage inverter system features: It uses the advanced including: modular and information scheme to design, so that the equipment is easy to use and maintain. The main features 1).Perfect har monics free In AMVI series medium-voltage inverter system, the power goes from its grid side through the phase-shifting rectifier transformer, isolated by multiple deputy windings. By along sides delta connection, output phase of each phase has a difference of 12 electric degrees, which is equivalent to 36 pulse rectifier, eliminating harmonics effectively. With multiple rectifier technology, this series of frequency inverter can meet the GB and IEEE voltage and current harmonic distortion requirements, and doesn't affect other electrical equipment on the same power network. 2

4 2).High power factor Because of the inverter's filter capacitance, this series inverter's power factor can be more than 0.95 at full speed, and the inverter's input current is less than motor current, it can reduce the burden of the grid capacity and power cable, circuit breaker, the capacity of transformer, and reduce the loss of line. It also decreases the problem of harmonics and low efficiency caused by too low power factor. It is not necessary to increase other equipment's costs because of the existence of reactive power. 3).Good input waveform Multiple PWM voltage output can provide sinusoidal output voltage without external output filter, and harmonics in output current output is very small. Small harmonics current can avoid motor overheat and motor derating. At the same time the motor running noise almost didn't increase because of the very small torque ripple..as there is no common mode voltage and the damage of dv/dt stress, you can use the conventional motor and cable without additional requirements of the motor and cable. 4).To achieve the motor's soft start System acceleration/deceleration time is set by user; the start process will not impact current power grids, which ensure motor runs safely and prolongs its service life. 5).High reliability The control algorithm by system design has strong control ability for the current, which can suppress many current faults automatically. The power unit is composed of high voltage power IGBT; it has a larger voltage margin which. Key electronic components and parts improve the reliability of the power unit effectively by the high temperature aging test, strict quality management and process control. When there is a failure, the power unit goes to bypass automatically to keep system still operating continuously, which improves the system reliability greatly. Power unit uses the modular design for quick disassembling and interchanging, which makes it possible to replace and maintain it with simple tools in a few minutes when fault occurs. High efficiency 6).High efficiency This series inverter's efficiency is more than 95% in total, while the efficiency of frequency conversion part is as high as 97%, which is much higher than other high voltage power speed control device. 7). Save operation and maintenance costs These series inverters adjust speed by reducing motor speed; they can not only save energy, but also can reduce the mechanical wear of the motor and load, and save a lot of maintenance costs for the user. 8).Easy to operate By pushing the buttons on the cabinet door, the inverter can operates as start, stop, quick stop, and reset control. The running state of the system can be viewed by the signal light on the cabinet door and on the HMI. Operational parameters such as voltage, current and frequency, etc. can be displayed on HMI. And the key system parameters can be checked and be set by HMI, to reflecting the working status visually. According to user's habits, the inverter's frequency can be given by main interface or by external analog signal. 3

5 9).Perfect protection and auto-diagnosis function This series inverter has perfect protection functions like over voltage, over current, phase loss, under voltage, over temperature etc. Compared with the original relay protection, its protection. Is more complete and clearer.monitoring software will show and record abnormal situation during operation. Users can know the cause of the problem with the fault record. 10).Rich interface functions This series inverter takes the industrial computer and PLC as the user interface, which can have extension of analog input/output, digital input/output, serial communication etc. It's easy to be integrated into the field automation control system. 11).System bypass function AMVI series medium- voltage inverter system has the function that the system operates with bypass and the supply frequency in case of failure. The purpose of this is to ensure the steady production when the speed regulation system breaks down during speed control. 6 System principle: AMVI series medium- voltage inverter put multiple power units in series stack, with high input power factor, low input current harmonics', and low input voltage/current harmonics being realized, which has perfect monitoring and protection function.its main structure is shown as figure 2-1. The power supply feeds the power units which are a three-phase input to single -phase output voltage type inverter. It uses multiple deputy edge isolation transformers to reduce power grid voltage. Putting the output side of the adjacent power unit in series forms the star connection structure, making it possible for the voltage inverter to supply high voltage to the motor. M 3AC Motor Main control system HMI PLC Take 10kv series medium-voltage high-power inverter as an example, as above figure shows, each phase consists of 9 power unit of rated voltage 640V being put in series, with the phase voltage being 5760V, and the line voltage being about 1000V. Each power unit stands full motor current, but only contributes 1/9 of the phase voltage and 1/27 of the power output. Line voltage Phase voltage System voltage additivity diagram 5

7 Power Unit: Power unit is mainly for power conversion in three phases which connects each other in star type, before the medium-voltage output is got finally. The power unit is a PWM voltage source inverter with AC - DC - AC structure. The electric schematic diagram is shown as in figure 1.5. Input AC is turned to DC through a three-phase diode full bridge rectifier, then filtered by the capacitor group,after that you get the single-phase AC output by SPWM control over the IGBT inverter bridge. Power unit has a wide working voltage range, it can operates normally within supply voltage fluctuation of + / - 30%. Power unit and main control system communicate through fiber optics, which well solved the problem of electromagnetic interference and the isolation between power electric part and the control part. 8 Control System: Control system applies a method of PLC + DSP + FPGA for motor control, monitor condition, control logic etc. Three controllers share the tasks reasonably for their complementary performance to achieve the goal of both high performance and high reliability. Due to the isolation between power electric part and the control part, hardware and software filtering, etc., included in the system design, the anti-interference ability of the system is obviously improved. As the interface between power electric part and external signal, PLC fully delivers its advantage of interface with high reliability and flexibility, able to provide various input and output options, the control modes of which can be changed according to the actual situation.dsp is mainly for the task of motor control and status monitoring where the real-time response is highly demanded. The design uses digital filter, hardware and software watchdog, software redundancy, software trap and other means to improve system's antiinterference performance.as for the circuit structure. we use high-performance floating-point DSP + ASIC chip from our own independent research and development. The DSP chip is responsible for the high performance control algorithm which can calculates hundreds of millions times per second, while the ASIC chip, produced by independent research and development, is responsible to generate the key unit control signal and responsible for the external condition monitoring, which avoids the failure caused by the program, and improves the reliability of the system greatly. Motor control uses advanced technologies, such as voltage vector algorithm which effectively improves the performance at low frequency. At the same time, DSP controller judges different kinds of accidents by detecting the system's electric measures, possessing complete ability of protection and accident handling. High-performance IPC is used to monitor and set the system running state, using graphs to show equipment working conditions, with friendly UI and convenience to use. It can store large capacity of data, with various interface expansions, quite easily to be connected with other equipment in the field seamlessly Transfor mer: The supply voltage is reduced by high voltage phase-shifting isolation transformer and then feeds the power units. There is isolation among the power units and among the secondary windings. Take input transformer of 6KV inverter as an example, the primary winding is 6KV, the secondary side consists of 18 windings divided into three phase. Since the transformer output side is in delta connection, the phase of each winding is different from the other by 10 degrees electrically. For the assignment of transformer secondary windings, secondary windings with the same electric phase supply power to a certain phase of motor respectively, which guarantees that each phase has the same current basically. Inverter's input side is equal to a rectifier for 36 pulses, which can effectively eliminates harmonics of more than 35 times. It can meet the PSB requirement about voltage and current harmonics distortion without adding any harmonics filter. The motor's reactive power can be provided by filter capacitance of the power unit. The power factor could be above 0.98 without choosing any power factor compensation measures. 7
