1 TTC Catalog - Visual Arts (ARV) ARV Computer Graphics I This course is a study of the fundamentals of computer-assisted graphic design using Adobe Illustrator software. It is recommended that students enrolling in ARV 110 be familiar with basic computer functions computer file management. ARV Photography I This course is a study of the principles, terminology, techniques, tools materials of basic black--white photography. ARV Aesthetics of Photography Lec: 3.0 Lab: 0 Credit: 3.0 This course covers the history aesthetics of photography from 1839 to the present, with special emphasis on the development of photographic seeing. ENG 100 or appropriate placement ARV Food Photography I 1
2 This course is a study of the principles, terminology, techniques, tools materials of digital food photography. ARV 212 ARV Design This course covers basic theories, vocabulary, principles, techniques, media problem-solving in basic design. ARV Composition Color This course covers the investigation application of principles concepts of visual organization the psychological physical properties of color. ARV 121 ARV Drawing for Animators This course introduces students to the basic elements of gesture drawing, quick sketch, volume, depth techniques to capture action attitude. Drawing for weight, force, thought, emotion movement is stressed. ART 111 2
3 or departmental approval ARV Motion Graphics I This course emphasizes techniques used to create motion graphics visual effects. Adobe After Effects software is used. ARV 217 ARV Graphic Reproduction I This course is a study of the principles practices used in print preparation print reproduction. CGC 106 CGC 110 ARV Digital Print Production This course covers digital printing processes, which include image sources, text line art. Color management, digital printing elements troubleshooting will also be covered. 3
4 ARV 217 ARV Media Arts Study Abroad This course introduces current practices in the international film print industries. Students will develop skills in evaluating styles trends in the media arts industry the global marketplace through lecture, cultural preparation study abroad. 24 credit hours in the major, departmental approval study abroad application approval ARV Special Topics in Media Arts I Lec: 1.0 Lab: 0 Credit: 1.0 This course covers special topics issues related to techniques, technology equipment as they emerge in the graphic communications industry. ARV Special Topics in Media Arts II Lec: 1.0 Lab: 0 Credit: 1.0 In this course students conduct research into specialized topics in studio arts then demonstrate techniques they have learned based on that research. ARV Special Topics in Media Arts lll Lec: 1.0 Lab: 0 Credit: 1.0 This course covers the practical experiences creation of visuals for various professional art design areas. 4
5 ARV Graphic Illustration This course covers the tools techniques used to create graphic illustrations for various types of print advertising. or Corequisite ARV 123 ARV Computer Graphics II This course is an advanced computer art course that includes a study of the creation of graphic design using electronic imagery. ARV 110 ARV 217 ARV Digital Media Design This course is an introduction to the core concepts of digital media design a survey of digital media trends. Students will produce format raster vector graphics for digital media. ARV 219 5
6 ARV Digital Photography This course is a study of the principles, terminology, techniques, tools materials of basic digital photography. Images produced in this course will address the needs of the visual communication industry. It is recommended that students enrolling in ARV 212 be familiar with basic computer functions computer file management. ARV Lighting This course introduces the fundamentals of photographic lighting techniques. ARV 212 ARV Photography II This course covers advanced projects in photography including studio work. Medium format cameras will be used. ARV 114 Corequisite ARV 213 ARV Photography III 6
7 This course incorporates advanced projects in photography, including studio lab work. Large format cameras will be used. ARV 213 ARV 214 ARV Lighting II This course covers advanced projects in photographic lighting techniques used in the studio on location. ARV 213 ARV Computer Imagery This course covers the use of the computer as a tool to create images that address the needs of the visual communication field. Adobe Photoshop software is used. It is recommended that students enrolling in ARV 217 be familiar with basic computer functions computer file management. ARV Computer Imagery II This course covers advanced computer techniques in creating images for visual communications such as presentations, print, graphics, etc. Editorial illustration will be the focus. 7
8 ARV 217 ARV Multimedia Techniques This course introduces the production of current interactive multimedia. It is recommended that students enrolling in ARV 219 be familiar with basic computer functions computer file management. ARV Interactive Media Design This course introduces techniques concepts used to develop proposals, treatments, production scripts design documents that act as templates for interactive media applications. ARV Website Design I This course introduces the production of an interactive website. ARV 217 or MAP 112 8

ARV 217 ARV 227 ARV Advanced Multimedia This course covers a study of advanced multimedia techniques. ARV Special Projects in Photography This course covers advanced photography projects as assigned from concept to final production. Departmental approval ARV Aerial Photography This course will introduce technical aesthetic skills of aerial photography videography using a UAS (Unmanned Aerial System).
