2 POPE JOHN PAUL THE GREAT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL APRIL 27, 2014 DEAR ARTISTS, Fifteen years ago this April, John Paul II wrote a letter to "all who are dedicated to the search for new 'epiphanies' of beauty." He reminded artists of their vocation in the service of beauty, which he describes as the visible form of the good. John Paul II encourages artists to recognize that art is "a kind of bridge to religious experience." He says that genuine artistic intuition reaches beyond reality's surface to interpret its hidden mystery, and, as art is a valid approach to the realm of faith, he proposes that artists rediscover horizons "especially rich in inspiration" and the "inexhaustible mine of the Gospel!" We thank you for your help in raising to God a hymn of praise by submitting your artwork for this exhibit.
